Personal insult

When one is doing or acting like a doctor or psychologist while he or she isn't qualified then that person commits a crime.

Besides this weird and dangerous behaviour, it's his personal insult nr 28844827

If you do, wow....

That is not an insult. If it is, I believe Hairless Kitten is overreacting.

This is the reason why I rarely come to here. It doesn't make sense.
Some people are protected and he is one of them.

If suggesting that one is mentally sick, if such things are not an insult anymore than everything is allowed. Good to know this.

Sorry but you're weak mods. I understand that you'll not hit him. He's doing YOUR work, but in a bad way. He's sitting more in this section than on the general board (ok he started 24 (!) of his 54 postings here), well, that's weird for a non-mod. His Nationstates life is builded up in spewing around vitriol and reporting people (not only me, but I'm one of his favourite targets) for the most minor little mistakes. In fact he is even reporting things which aren't mistakes, faults or whatever. He's reporting just for the reporting and sometimes the fantastic mods bite in his bait.

And sorry for wasting my time.

Where's the personal insult in that post?

I'm not a doctor, but it seems you have a serious problem with your eyes. And if everything is ok with your eyes, then while I'm not a neurologist I should visit a neurologist, because it seems you could have a serious brain damage. And if your brain is ok, I should go to your nearest priest, while I'm not one, it could be that your morality, honesty and ethics are fucked up.

This of course, not in an insulting manner, but just as an advice from la Hairless Kitten.

And you are making this out to more than it is. I've seen Intangelon be a bit heavy handed in his wording, but that post could only be less abrasive if he wrapped it in velvet.

That, of course, is in an insulting manner. And as it is the third time you have been officially noticed for such behaviour, you get a 24-hour ban for it.

When people post complaints in Moderation, it is understandable if they are a little miffed at the person who caused the complaint; but Luna Amore was not that person, had not been interacting with you and offered no provocation.

With regard to your earlier post, if you feel you have a genuine complaint of mod bias, post a Getting Help request with specific examples/links. Any mods mentioned in it will automatically recuse themselves from consideration of it.

...your claims of being personally attacked would be taken more seriously. Given that you certainly seem to know enough English to make perfectly intelligible remarks to others, many of which you have NOT been warned for, it does seem very like a case of the Pot calling the Kettle black.

Your style is very rude, aggressive, and outright insulting. You have made claims that you did not back up for quite some time, and mocked those who asked you to provide your evidence. In short, making these kinds of posts which are intended to insult (as you admitted in one of the posts linked) and inviting heated responses is flamebaiting, something which has resulted in two bans now.

If you wish to complain of others' responses to you, please make sure that you appear before us with squeaky clean hands.

I resent the characterization of my Moderation posts as anything other than what they are: requests for rules clarifications when I'm not personally involved, and requests for possible action when I am personally involved.

Apart from that, this thread itself sums everything up quite well.

http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.ph...&postcount=114 -- Asks if Soheran is homophobic.

I didn't ask that, but:

So you have a phobia for homophobia?

I didn’t ask if Soheran is homophobic, but I asked if (s)he has a phobia for homophobia. Homophobia is in many western countries illegal, having a phobia for homophobia is not. Beside, it is stated as a question. And every serious adult would understand the small joke in the question. I consider homophobia as something wrong from a moral or ethic point of view. I do not have a problem with a phobia against homophobia people. It’s in the same line as: ‘I think racism is wrong and I don’t like racists’. So I risk a warning/ban when I say that I don't like racists?

Some are so over the top, that I don't understand why you are wasting time on it. Others could be described as very mild insults but mostly because it's a reaction on people their insults or their 'illegal' (PG13 remember) use of swearing

I do understand and recognize that I sometimes could anger people. But most of it is related to misunderstanding each other and rather a lot of your research is pure out of context.
I’m not that different IRL, but on Earth I have other weapons to soften my intentions. I have mimic, a voice tone, arm expressions and so on. I am aware that written words are sometimes harder than they actual are, but sometimes I forget this. My expressions are not that hard as they seem.

Almost every posting is creating anger to other people. If one is saying ‘I don’t believe in god’, then he is actually giving other people a bad feeling. Et vice versa. If one is saying ‘god created all in 6 days, 5000 – 6000 years ago’ then he is making the scientific oriented guys at least a little nervous.

I didn’t know that there’s a time limit in answering questions. I checked the rules, but couldn’t find anything about it.

When I insult people, it is most of the time rather mild (caveman, poodle, weasel,…) and mostly a reaction of their insults or their attitude that they are expressing by the use of their (‘illegal’ PG13) swearing words.

And even if it are clear proved insults then that doesn’t mean when I complain about other people their insults, that my complain doesn’t have any worth at all. When a convicted thief is the victim of another thief then the last one doesn’t get away with it by stating ‘sure, but you’re a thief on your own’.

You are just underlining my idea that some people can say all and others don’t. Till a certain degree this is acceptable and normal. You do like some people more than others. And some people have some worth for the future of this forum and others don’t.

But I will tell you this, I do have weak sides in my character, I’m in no way perfect but I do contribute a lot to this forum. It isn’t always easy to find subjects that could get the attention of an international audience. And I rarely bring stuff that others brought already zillion times (Palestine-Israel stuff, god does or doesn’t exist, Same-sex marriages, paedophilia priests, Bush is all evil, etc…) before.

If you keep targeting people for the wrong reasons, then the diaspora of potential interesting people will continue. In the end you will have the residue of society that barely can make an opinion but instead only greet each other with ‘fuck you! – fuck you too!’.

According my opinion, a few years ago, this board was containing more regular posters and their ‘VAR’ rating was certainly had a higher standard. Off the record and for a clear understanding, this doesn’t mean there are no regular posters anymore and it doesn’t say that there are no quality pieces anymore.

I base this assumption on a few things:

• Polls are answered by less people, which is suggesting there are less people on board of the ship.

• The swearing attitude exploded. Few years ago, swearing was also used sometimes, but if it happened it was regularly attacked by the mods, using their PG13 rule as a defence. Today you almost look weird if you are not swearing. Maybe the forum isn’t getting any money more via the Google Advertisements anymore. The swearing is fighting the ‘swearing rules’ dictated by Google.

• Few years ago, people attacked other people their opinion WITH another opinion. Present times they usual say stuff like: ‘this is shit’ or ‘your opinion sucks’ without any counter argument.

It’s a little sad, that probably high intelligent people make a big rush about some silly jokes, but close their eyes for the flagrant racism on this board. And no, I will not show you links. I already did a few times and they were all pushed away for banal reasons and to protect the inner circle of few that may say ‘all’.

For me this issue is closed.

The mods showed once more that they are unreliable sources that defend the policies used on this forum. If you ban one and not the other for almost the SAME expressions then you lose your credibility.

@Ardchoille, It was not an insult, you know it, Luna Amore knows it and I know it.

Why?

* Kryozerkia, a moderator, said before that another guy, who launched almost the same lines, didn’t had the purpose of creating an insult. How can my words be insulting if it wasn’t when they are launched by another?

* The context and because the end line contained: “This of course, not in an insulting manner, but just as an advice from la Hairless Kitten.” Luna didn’t felt insulted at all, when (s)he later explained that (s)he is having an actual eye problem, I even immediately made my excuses.

* Further on, it was used as a very clear and obvious analogy to explain my opinion. That’s why Luna didn’t felt offended at all.

And even if you fight this, then my point about the creditability of the mods is crystal clear.

If Intangelon can ran away with almost the same argument and this inside the regular thread, out of the blue, unneeded and unwanted and this while I’m launching mine inside the Mod section then this is suggesting there’s indeed something wrong with specific your morality and ethics.

If Intangelon would have launched this kind of remarks for the first time, I wouldn’t think about reporting it. But it’s a reaction (and it was late, I needed sleep :p) to his unstoppable behaviour of personal insults. For heaven sake, he’s even reporting innocent threads here, in the hope they are violations against some rule. Fair is fair, you don’t follow him all the time.

Anyway, congratulations Ardchoille, he’s now sure he has a clearance to continue that harebrained attitude. He’s now sure he can do more as an ordinary civilian of the Nationstates forum.

No, it's not. It is indeed an opinion, but it is not more or less worth than yours.

It's difficult to back it up but I do remember that people were warned for cursing.

Just out of interest, and slightly off topic for this thread, but has this actually ever happened? I'm fairly certain that the only warnings I've seen which have mentioned bad language have done so in the context of some other offense - e.g., flaming exacerbated by swearing ("you're a fucking idiot", as opposed to just "you're an idiot").

Is my memory faulty - are there any cases where users have been warned just for cursing? If there have been, was this ever a general pattern?

Well, that was a bit excessive, and not nice.

I've seen people get gently nudged for making obscene thread titles, after they did it a few times, they eventually got some kind of more formal trouble.

Thread titles are not posts though.

I have also seen people get into trouble for inappropriate nation names and national currency.......again, those aren't the same standard as posts.

You haven't been cited for 'angering people'.

When I insult people, it is most of the time rather mild (caveman, poodle, weasel,…)

There is no justification for insulting people. And 'mild' is in the eye of the beholder - as perhaps the only Romanichal nationstates poster (as far as I know), I didn't find your comments about 'cavemen in caravans' to be mild. I found them quite strongly racist.

...and mostly a reaction of their insults or their attitude that they are expressing by the use of their (‘illegal’ PG13) swearing words.

You can't justify a rules infringement with someone else's rules infringement. And that call would be a moderator's call, anyway.

• The swearing attitude exploded. Few years ago, swearing was also used sometimes, but if it happened it was regularly attacked by the mods, using their PG13 rule as a defence.

In the first ever debate I participated in on NSG, with my first ever nation (so - about 5 years ago) the person I was debating with asked me if I was 'a f**king nun' because I kept objecting to his expletive laden responses. There is nothing new under the sun... not even on NSG.

There is no justification for insulting people. And 'mild' is in the eye of the beholder - as perhaps the only Romanichal nationstates poster (as far as I know), I didn't find your comments about 'cavemen in caravans' to be mild. I found them quite strongly racist.

You can't justify a rules infringement with someone else's rules infringement. And that call would be a moderator's call, anyway.

In the first ever debate I participated in on NSG, with my first ever nation (so - about 5 years ago) the person I was debating with asked me if I was 'a f**king nun' because I kept objecting to his expletive laden responses. There is nothing new under the sun... not even on NSG.

I do not recognize cavemen in caravans as racist talks. If I think about caravan people I'm certainly not thinking in colours. Beside, the stereotype in movies and book general colour them white. When I'm thinking about caravan people, I have the image of rude, brutal, vulgar and simple people in front of me.

I'm not in the mood to fight your other issues. Most of it is already said & done.

I object to that unnecessary censorship. Is that new?

So as long as their skin color is white... It's okay to stereotype them?

I motion that the mods relocate this debate to general -- it shouldn't really be here.

Better, let's just lock this. This won't be going anywhere.
