I think conquering Brazil would be about right, if there was anything in there to conquer other than stumps of rainforests.
Voicing this misconception makes you one of the most unamerican people on this already not very American board.

Flamebaiting/trolling.
Actually, noting that many peopl on NSG aren't from America is neither trolling, nor flamebaiting.
What's more is that I believe most flamebaiting has to be more targeted than the vague references that Vault 10 made.

See that green arrow next to calvinjoy's name? That's a link. It's included in every quote.

Threadjacking/Trolling.
This is about Hillary.
To which I replied:
This has zero to do with Hillary....now defend your posts.
To which you replied:
This has quite a bit to do with Hillary. You'd have no other reason to call me anti-American for supporting notions that A LOT of people in this board support.

Aside from the first post, the rest is just petty nitpicking. It will not get slapped with a yellow or red card.

Collectively addressed (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14708127&postcount=100).
For what it's worth, the post originally complained about was just sufficiently specific to be mild trolling -- "the typical liberal poster to this thread".
But I'm not going to single one poster out when many, including the complainant, are also breaking rules.
I would urge you all to grow a skin. Competent debaters recognise defensive flim-flam for what it is, and instead go for the jugular by fastening on the argument, or lack thereof, instead of trading increasingly bizarre personal insults.
EDIT: Heh. From halfway round the world, the Voices of Mod sing from the same hymn-book. E pluribus unum.

I thought I was "fastening on the argument", but that was met with a removal of post and a suggestion that my comment was "bad timing".
Heikoku 2's "argument" was suggesting that Rick Perry was "anti-American", and I pushed for proof.
Also, Heikoku 2 apparently doesn't like being called "anti-American", but when I pointed out that many of his posts (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14708054&postcount=86) in the thread had taken an "anti-American" slant, he could not grasp the irony of the situation.
If anyone is evading the "argument" it is the thread originator himself.
Also, what is this with telling people to "shut up".......does this pass now for reasonable debate discourse?

Not actionable. Learned it when some spammers went mods-as-weapons on me.

This is NSG.
Provided you don't say "shut up" with a "you fugly faced wanker" or something along those lines then it is allowed.

It appeared to me that you were both re-opening the "Heikoku is/isn't anti-American" obsession that has been dragging threads off-topic for almost a year. Please don't.

With all due respect, it was Heikoku who was re-opening the topic of whether he was anti-American or not (http://forums3.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14707650&postcount=18). The thread is about "anti-Americanism" and Heikoku has branded Rick Perry as anti-American but has not provided any proof.
I am simply calling him on his "stuff"....isn't that what debate is all about?

Obviously not so. I would personally appreciate it if you would drop the "mods as weapons" thing since after review it was found to be a baseless accusation against me. If you're not referring to myself then just ignore this.
At the very least using "shut up" as a counter argument only shows that you've run out of logical/justifiable/reasonable points to make so continuing to debate with you after that would be foolish on the opposition's side.

Or that one doesn't think what the opponent said merits anything better than that.
