A while ago, a poster (Wilgrove) decided to grant me a little...nickname, in an altercation already recorded elsewhere on the forum. Specifically, "puddles".

After so doing, I informed him, and the rest of the forum, that such a nickname was unacceptable, and that any further attempts to address me as such, would be reported for flamebaiting.

In a new thread, in response to a post I made, parkus responded with this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14671248&postcount=7)

Following that, I made this post (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14671261&postcount=14), once again reiterating that I do not find such references acceptable, and, based on moderator precedent, continued use of such a name, after I had already voiced my objection to being referred to as such, either by text, or images, was against forum rules.

Following that, he posted this. Which, I interpret, that despite my repeated requests to stop, and my clear, unambiguous statement that I find it unacceptable, he will persist in doing so.

Thus I report the first instance in the thread as contrary to forum rules, for perpetuating it, despite my earlier statement not to continue. I would also request that a moderator make it quite clear that such continued action is against the forum rules.

I also point out that in no way did Neo Art make it previously clear to me that he found the picture highly offensive. I also point out that I did not address him by that name in the thread. After posting the picture he said: "Parkus, knock it the fuck off."; I asked if he found it offensive. I did not say anything like: "Did I hurt your feelings, Puddles?" I just asked why it bothered him so much; I did not continue to harass him with the name, and I cannot see how this could be considered flame baiting.

My intent was not malicious. I find it very strange that Neo Art, on this forum, has referred to all Libertarians as "crackpots", then defended his statement against objections, but later finds a picture alluding to relatively inoffensive and merely teasing term to require action on the part of the moderators.

You chose to continue. Whether you agree or disagree with my statements on this forum is irrelevant. If you think I'm breaking a rule, report it.

I saw Wilgrove was irking you by repeatedly calling you that to annoy you. But I do not do that--I posted a picture to tease you once, and I did not refer to you by that name in conversation.

You are not breaking any rule that I am aware of.

Not quite; you implied you would continue to post using the disputed term when you felt Wilgrove needed defending.

I only post it in response to nick-names, or when you harass Wilgrove, which you just did.

Wilgrove is entirely capable of defending himself, so there is no reason for you to continue. I see that you have already removed the pictures. Neo Art has told you he dislikes the nickname, so I'm sure that you, as a reasonable person, will not continue to annoy him by using it, referring to it or illustrating it.

Equally, I am sure that Neo Art, as a reasonable person, will realise that an authoritarian order is less likely to succeed than a polite request, and will amend his posting style appropriately.

I am sure of all this because I, too, am a reasonable person, and know that two intelligent adults are more than capable of resolving a minor disagreement and playing nicely together.

I am also sure of it because if you don't I'll bloody well thump yer with the reasonable-person mod tools provided.
