I seem to recall a few months back, a buddy of mine posted a thread asking questions about Chinese Government policy in regards to usage of mercenaries. He stated that the information was needed due to preparation of a position paper for Model UN, when he realized he had no information readily availible and was curious if anyone had any info or takes on the issue. This thread was locked, a Mod writing: "The General Forum is not here to do your homework for you."
If that was not good enough to be a general thread, then a thread concerning the manner in which toilet paper is hung from the roll is definitely not either.

How to hang a toilet paper roll is a very important political issue. I am always seeing it hung underneath instead of hanging it over in the proper way.
It's very confusing when people hang it the wrong way.

Quality is not a determining factor in the permissibility of a thread. If it was, NSG would invariably cease to exist. Now, note the part in bold. The thread was closed because the person submitted a request for homework help.
Homework: Requests for assistance with homework in any forum, are forbidden.

I had been the one who found the thread and it was in my opinion a request for homework help. It was dealt with.
The thread you've decided is spam will not be locked. Until it actually becomes spam, I'm allowing for it to remain open. A discussion concerning the manner in which toilet paper is hung is very important. That and it's not something that comes up every day.

Absolutely, I agree totally. I was just upset because I had an illness that almost killed me at the time (believe it or not a wicked gnarly case of tonsilitis...damn Navy doctors...can't figure anything out! They almost killed me for lack of proper treatment!). I was just plain irrascible for that. Truth be told, I'm an "under" man myself. I prefer to let it hang behind the roll. Just throwing it out there.
