well I read the ruling regarding grave digging: Gravedigging: Posting a reply on a long disused thread; bumping threads that aren't used anymore. Adding legitimate new material is permitted, and the acceptable age varies from forum to forum. Adding a book report in Jennifer Government is acceptable after months of inactivity, but bumping a week-old topic in General may not be.
And sometimes when old posts are brought back to life they get locked by mods. So what is the policy regarding re-posting these? Naturally I know most locked threads aren't allowed to be reposted (otherwise they wouldn't be locked) but in the case of re-posting legit threads that are too old to be added to or get locked? Such as http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=411099 this thread recently locked

If you want to post a thread with the bios and pictures of national leaders, there's no problem with it.
But you should check to make sure there are not threads with that info already being actively maintained. It might be good to consult with a couple of active IIers before proceeding just to prevent duplication of effort.

There are two that I know of: the just-closed one and this one (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=426309). I'll merge them and shunt them both across to Archives -- there is a bit of NS history there. [EDIT: Dunnit.]
Kurona, as well as checking with the II regulars, be aware of what you'd be in for.
The originators of both the old threads took on the job of updating the alphabetical list of nations in the first post. Once it was updated, the poster of the link was supposed to delete his original post in which he gave the link. Also, posters were supposed to provide just a link to the pic, not post the pic itself.
I say "supposed" because both these conventions fell by the wayside when the thread originators dropped (or were booted) out. But they were sensible limits, and should be restored.
So if you start the thread, you get the job of updating, of nagging folk to take their posts about links away once you've listed them and of reminding people to post links, not pics.
Still interested?
EDIT: If you're doing a bio-plus-pic-link thread, people would want their posts to stay. Fair enough, I guess. Less nagging, anyway.
