The thread Republicans grandstand California into the ground.. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=583939) has devolved into a rather nasty flamewar, death threats, etc, from about post 40-60 on. Particularly bad:

Heikoku sniping right back at GF (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14528976&postcount=64)

GF wishes he could kill communists (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14529046&postcount=80)

Direct attack on Heikoku by GF (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14529207&postcount=86)

Some of Glorius Freedonia's comments in particular strike rather close to home: "I wish I could beat up and kill commies" is a slightly worrying thing for me, as a communist, to hear. Having said that, Heikoku 2 is flaming right back, and there are plenty of other posters not helping things. I humbly suggest that a bucket of cold water might be in order.

Locked it in order to review the contents without having to contend with more posts.

Ok Uni you just called anybody who was proud of their service in the wars against North Vietnam and North Korea a flamer. If you were in North Korea right now you would not even have the right to post anything on the Internet. I am proud of my opposition to commies. I am proud that my country and much of the world stood up to the commies and won the cold war. If this wrong, I do not want to be right. Uni is mad that I think and say that pinkos, commies, and other liberals want more government funding than I think is appropriate and runs to the mods about it?

The problem is not your choice to be proud of anyone who served in North Korea or 'Nam; the problem is the choice of words and how you presented it.

No, I am mad that you say, and I quote, "Good for you! That is awesome. I am soooo jealous. I wish I could have killed or beaten up commies too without any legal problems."

For some strange reason, I get a little paranoid when other posters express a wish to beat up or kill people like me.

Being proud of service is one thing. Wishing you could kill other people for their political beliefs is quite another, and is (among other things) strictly against the rules of this board, which, IIRC, have a category about death threats.

Edit: Whoops, Kyro, didn't see your post there. Can we have a specific ruling on GF's post here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14529046&postcount=80), which I think falls under threats from the OSRS.

Tarsonis Survivors, if you have nothing to add to help clarify the issue in the thread being discussed here, please don't post in threads in the Moderation Forum. This isn't for discussion; it's for mods to make rulings and players to ask for clarification.

Sorry for missing it. But yes... your concerns are legitimate. GF is suggesting that people who believe in the Communist ideologies, and that does go against the rules. They have been warned. Next time will result in a ban.

Any other mod is free to modify my ruling if they feel I've been too soft.
