Thread closed. I accept Neo Art's explanation that his most recent post -- the one in which he did exactly what I warned him against doing -- was made while I was posting mine.
I do not accept that a person who is a regular on NS should need a moderator to point out how objectionable his previous posts were,
The OSRS puts it well: Erudite slams while maintaining a veneer of politeness can also be considered flaming.
And, even more aptly, Flamebait: Posts that are made with the aim of angering someone indirectly. Not outright flame, but still liable to bring angry replies. Flame baiting is a far more subtle and covert action; it is an underhanded tactic ..."
Yeah. Underhanded. Not one of your best moments, NA.

Is Wilgrove's sig okay? It offends me greatly but I'm unsure if it's flamebait or if I need to grow a thicker skin.
Also, it misrepresents me as I've never claimed to be a lawyer.

I'll also add that, as a sig, it falls into the issue of not allowing a direct response.

You best opt for the latter on this.
Yes, it may not 'represent' you, as you never claimed to be a lawyer, but it appears to be a sarcastic remark.
I'll also add that, as a sig, it falls into the issue of not allowing a direct response.
It also contains a clickable link to the post. Thus, one can reply to it in the originating thread.

I suggest that Smunk goes and replies. The thread is still active; a current thread.

Without opining on this particular signature, I thought sigs were somewhat like flags, about which the FAQ says:
You betcha. In fact, we're much stricter on nation flags than we are on forum posts, because they're not open for challenge and debate. If you want to make a political point, don't use your flag -- use the forum, where other people have a right of reply.
Especially since threads devoted to rebutting a particular poster's sig are verboten, I'm not clear on how one can challenge and debate a sig's content.

Exactly.
Also, TCT and Neo Art I don't have anything against lawyers, I just don't want people to think I actually claimed to be one.......I have a real problem with people who claim to be lawyers on the internet......you know since most of them aren't.

*sniff*
I am deeply hurt and offended that you would want to deny you are a lawyer, just because you are not a lawyer. Us lawyers have feelings, you know!!
