Al-Quidah has g-dmodded this entire time. While upset with the first g-dmodding he did I played along but this thread has degraded to nothing but trash. Would the might mods please shut down this thread or at least talk to the player about proper rping.

All of us have already asked him to read the stickies but he does not comply. Thank you very much.

The moderators don't regulate RP.

Have you tried talking to the player behind Al-Quidah? If that doesn't work, you can always ignore the RP.

Maybe he doesn't want to use it himself, and feels as though he can't use it.

Some people feel it is disrespectful, and don't use it in their normal course of writing. I knew someone like that when I was in high school the first time.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I don't like to put the o in G-d when I am just using his name freely. I'm not saying his name in vain but I just don't feel comfortable using it like that. Several people have questioned me about my use of the word G-d with a dash instead of an o. However this thread is now going off topic.

The mod ruling as I understand it is to prevent people from becoming carbon copies of RL nations fighting RL wars. That sort of stuff can and should be done on alternate history boards, not NS, where you're supposed to create your own nation and RP its history.

In the moderators' minds, such threads get away from what NationStates is all about. And I agree with them wholeheartedly.

If you want to create an alternate history RP related to NS RPing, that's fine. If Doomingsland and I decided to RP the Inkanan Civil War to change the outcome to have the alliance of Sarzonia, Isselmere and Imperial Inkana defeat Doomingsland, Generic Empire and Confederate Inkana, that'd be allowed.

But back on topic, I actually hinted at Katganistan's proposed solution in my earlier post on this thread. And I also endorse it for rampant Godmoders.
