Clarification

At least you got one thing right. "Him" it is.

The obtuseness of the left, once again exemplified. The 2008 election obviously wasn't an exact replay of LOTR.

BO may be a "figure of change", despite his recycling a horde of Clinton apparatchiks back into his administration, but not the change he's pretending to be. If anything, the change is toward more government and less economic freedom. As for an "embodiment of hope," well, he may represent hope for Islamo-Nazis and other enemies of the US, and for those who hope to create the United Socialist States of America.

The Dark Lord, seizing and wielding the One Ring, has taken control of the minds of the majority of voters. This time, the Ring didn't end up in the Cracks of Doom. The men of the West were overrun. The appellation fits. You just don't like it. Too bad.

And FYI: the Dark Lord initially wielded the One Ring from the mid-Second Age to its end, long before Frodo came into the picture, during which time he overran much of Middle-Earth on two different occasions. As you would realize if you knew much about LOTR --a work which I've read and re-read probably since before you were born. So the title works in both situations.

But if you'd prefer a different reference, how does "Napoleon" suit you? You know, the pig from Animal Farm who had his flock of sheep supporting him. Just replace "Four legs good, two legs bad" with "Change we can believe in".

In this world of yours, do the pink elephants have wings?

Thats hardly an attack on NM, and more an attack on this world he's created for himself. I would like clarification for the warning.

I replied to your PM before I saw this thread. Hopefully that clarifies things.

I would, however, like to point out that I was warned for something extremelly mild, while New Mitani got away with, in the very same thread, calling someone an "orc", and has been for the past month infering that anyone who disagrees with him politically is a subhuman creature made to serve in an evil overlord's army.

Im not crying mod persecution. Just saying you may have missed something.

Rather than having us go fishing, please supply a link to the posts in question.

Ah yes, another orc heard from.

Its mild, but since we're apperantly handing out warnings for interpertations and ideas about "posting patterns", I think fair is fair.

I don't normally post in Moderation threads and probably should keep my opinion to myself ....

That said, I fail to understand how, if KoL's "pink elephants" comment was a warnable offense, NM's "orc" comment does not also deserve a warning.

... since we're apperantly handing out warnings for interpertations and ideas about "posting patterns",

Mods' views on posting patterns are not based on "interpretations and ideas", they're based on ... wait for it ... posting patterns! You may remember my warning to you for your "worm" comment was also based on your posting patterns, which I referred to as "your old bad habits".

You are a valued poster who unfortunately needs to be reminded far too frequently to address your remarks to the post, not the poster.

Its mild ... <snip> ... I think fair is fair.

"Fair is fair" doesn't mean "tit for tat". From what you say, you were justly rebuked for a pattern of offences. This does not oblige you to find a cause for which your opponent may be rebuked. I've addressed (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14299354&postcount=65) the substance of your complaint in the thread.
