It seems like a bold way to start a thread, to be honest:
"Once upon a time, there was this great thread called Choose Wisely. It had like over 9000 posts, and was full of spam and lulz. It started off as an epic topic though.
This is the remix to that thread."

But, perhaps, boldly admitting that you're attempting to replicate a spamfest, in General, is not the best move. Although, it is bold.

a spam thread every now and then gives a release for posters. it's better to spam a spammy thread than to hijack a serious one. ;)
this is just my humble non-mod opinion tho.

I didn't see the Base 13 one. I'm on here a lot when I'm at work, but hardly ever, otherwise... maybe it slipped under the radar.
I've seen a few that looked a bit spammy, and have figured they'll get caught in the sweeps. To actually come out and say (basically) 'spam, yay!' seemed to be a different animal.
I'm going to go look at some base 13 jokes now...
