Flambé?

Laerod

I don't know if this qualifies as flame, seeing as there's an "if" included, but the words "You are a stupid mother fucker..." seemed close enough to crossing the line to ask.

Thats your opinion, thats enough for me,real conseratives are pro-life,cut taxes, support a robost foriegn policy, and support the Bill of Rights.

Besides just noticed you are from Germany in stilll in pergitory for for forefathere for voting for Hitler IMHO so you dont get to bust my balls over me judgement on who is what in the Conservative movement.

I understand this has already been addressed but it seems u missed this post and I figured I'd just bring it up

I didn't miss it, DaWoad, it just seemed so egregiously silly to me it couldn't be taken seriously.

If I did take it seriously, I'd say it's too waffly to be flame or flamebait. The "you living in Germany" bit is addressed to Laerod, but the rest of it is a generalisation about Germans.

As an argument, it's fallacious, but I'm too lazy to look it up. All A are B, you are A, therefore you are B ... false first premise ...

Guess I'd better make this clear: no, this is not a ruling that posters may freely insult the nations of other posters. The poster's intent to insult was clear, and the warning to cut it out encompassed such behaviour.

Could I get a clarification of the ruling on insulting nations? Like, if someone says "America is a fascist state" as part of an argument about part of the nation abusing censorship, does that count?

Does that count as flaming or flamebaiting? Not in itself, no. This is a forum for a political game, and we expect people to have different views of politics.

I'm not making a blanket exemption here, mind you. It's very easy for someone to take such a statement and turn it into flaming or flamebaiting. It's a matter of context. There's a big difference between saying "America is a fascist state, and here's why," versus saying "America is a fascist state, you're an American, so therefore you're a fascist".
