Thread lock request

Could we have a thread lock here, please:
http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=568306
The posts from Liventia, Qazox, and myself explain why the thread is unnecessary.
Taeshan's attempt to start up a 'new' Olympic Council thread was well-intentioned, but is misleading, unilateral and is causing more confusion than it was designed to solve.
The old system was working perfectly well.

I also posted this to #themodcave on gamesurge earlier today. The thread starter claims the old thread was getting impossible to control, when he had no control over it. This just seems like an attempt to try to get exactly that.

My reading is gentler than Liv's. I don't think Taeshan is explicitly trying to take control (I don't really think he has it in him).
On past form, his heart is more or less in the right place, he just simply doesn't understand why what he's done might be wrong.
But it is confusing a lot of new nations.

Thank you both. It seems to me like something you should work out with the OP.
If not, please leave further discussion until someone is available to rule on it (not me, it's 11.30pm and I'm working an early shift tomorrow).

Trust me, he doesn't listen. While back we tried to get him to use the edit button lot more, and that didn't work out and he ended up being warned for spamming...

Nonetheless, the rules are clear. The original poster controls the thread unless it breaks site rules. I don't see rulebreaking. Sorry.

I fully agree that the problem thread in and of itself doesn't break any rules; however, it's a unilateral attempt to replace, and in Liv's mind to hijack, this

without engaging with or talking to the OP of the latter, or any of the other people involved with that thread.
If that doesn't make any difference, then that's fine, and I'll respectfully abide by that and leave well-enough alone.
In the meantime, I've followed Ardchoille's suggestion, and have attempted to engage with the OP of the thread Liv and I are objecting to.
In the meantime, thanks for considering our problem, and I hope we didn't seem too petty.

It's hard to argue that the original thread is being maintained when it's got ... Last edited by Krytenia; 17-03-2006 at 13:08. ... right there at the bottom of the OP.
My suggestion would be to set up the Council as a NSwiki page. Then anyone could edit in new members.

Yeah...about that...the organisation doesn't need membership - it needs an OOC thread.
OP updated.
