I feel strange doing this, but I feel that perhaps this is not the best thing to be posting here? I mean, that's a well known racial slur on the box, and the whole thing kind of weirds me out. I'll defer to your judgement on this though - I didn't think so at the begining, but at some point I realized that you mod-folk usually get it right enough.

Oh come on, he posted that it was a joke. I mean, I dislike Nazis and I find it funny. It's just so bogus. He also had a thread about it.

I believe, if anything, that he's actually poking fun at racists and racism. A lot of his posts related to that are clever satires of the Nazi movement and general pro-white racism.

It's ambiguous. I mean, IRL he says he's fascist, but that doesn't necessarily mean he supports/does not support racism. I doubt it, but hey, it's hard to tell. Just as hard to tell if I'm a communist or not.

The Mindset and Laerod are both right. Racism as such isn't against the rules. You can legitimately argue a racist position in General (if you dare). You can legitimately have a racist nation in roleplay.

But you can't troll, troll-bait, flame or flamebait.

And, though each of these usually requires an element of malice to be rulebreaking, it's also possible to commit them unintentionally.

To me, the pic seems so over-the-top it's clearly meant to poke fun at racists. The thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=567267&page=2) Stolomolvi mentioned, which was begun two days before, should be sufficient proof of that.

But it's a picture. The impact is instantaneous. Nor is it in GWO's humorous thread. There's no sort of verbal warning, not even in the events of the RP (in fact, it's irrelevant to the RP and, as such, spam). So there's no chance for a viewer to make the mental adjustment from "seriously intended" to "ridicule".

On that basis, I see it as trolling and I've removed it.

For the reasons given above, I won't be penalising GWO and I see no need for action on his other thread involving that character.
