Question on Sigs

I recently noticed that within the past 24 hours that my sig was deleted and had something along the lines of it is limited to 8 lines.

My question is was this a Moderator ruling and changed it or was it done automatically by the system?

I only ask because my sig has been like that for quite a few weeks now and nobody said anything.

Whether the cop pulls you over the first time you speed or the twelfth, 70 in a 35 mph zone is still against the rules.

Whether we noticed when you put it up or yesterday, eight lines is still the sig limit.

Yeah I know, I was just surprised that it had slipped under the radar (not that I knew it was the limit) for so long. But from memory it didn't have 8 lines it had a quote from GnI one from NSFergi a written in quote that was from somebody not a NS poster I don't remember who I just liked the quote and another line that said Bottles Intern. Now isn't that only 6 lines including the line that says Quote:NS poster name.

A one-line quote box takes up five lines of space.

Oh, really? Shit, well then in that case I had taken up 17 spaces as I had an extra line between all the rest. Just one more question, I know we can change the size of the writing do different sizes mean different lines or is it sort of a one size fits all policy?

Unfortunately not; look at this thing and count' em.

A one-line quote box takes up five lines of space.

You've got the line saying "quote", the line with the top of the box in it, the "originally posted by" line, the line with the actual quote in it, and then the bottom end of the quote box. What size the line in the middle is doesn't change it.

Sorry Tsar I meant if we didn't have the quote box but just some writing, but I suppose it runs along the same principle.

Ah. If you've got "Is it jello time already?" -- Thomas Jefferson or whatnot, that only takes up one line. But eight lines is still the limit. Note that if you go the other route, and use size=7 or whatever, we will trim the size tags down to fit (or just delete it). Obviously if you have eight lines of utterly huge text that's not acceptable.
