South Lizasauria has been spamming quite a lot for...well, for as long as he's been here, so far as I know.

Here's another example:

I'm curious as to why the mods have not stopped his spamming.

Kay, so, is this spam? Not spam? Is South Lizasauria actually a puppet of one of the mods? What?

Yes, it's spammish. No, South Lizasauria is not a mod puppet.

If we wanted to delete every single spam post in General, we'd need 50 mods working 24 hours a day. We've got about six active, with a few minutes a day each. Consequently, we tend to reserve our activity for spam that interferes with the smooth operation of the forums.

Your hysteria notwithstanding, this is hardly landmark spam that needs to be dealt with. It'll drift off the front pages soon enough, if it hasn't already.

My point is that he's been doing this for some time now. These two spam threads alone? Nothing much.

But he's been doing this constantly and getting away with it constantly while others get slammed down, banned, deleted, etc etc. I'm just wondering why he's constantly missed.

Oh, it's obviously mod bias. Because people just get banned, deleted, and slammed down on a whim... they never do anything wrong like post banned things like graphic images, or trolling, flaming, flamebaiting....
No, as a matter of fact, we've been so well paid off that we're all on the beach in Hawaii now....

...or it might be that we might be a tad busy in our offline lives?

In my case, it's been one of those mental notes -- must TG whoever re whatever -- that keeps slipping my mind when something more urgent comes up. Plus, since the loss of the Spam forum, I've tended to leave alone the sort of thing that I would have towed over there. No deliberate omission, just circumstance.

I didn't know the mods had offline lives.

Oh, okay. I was just wondering, honestly. I wasn't trying to insinuate that others didn't deserve it; I was just wondering why this guy didn't get hit with whatever appropriate punishment too, that's all.

And now I see why. Thank you.

Why was the second thred closed. It's a genuinely interesting question.

Not only does the initial question promote spam in itself, but 'lo and behold, the thread degenerates into spam at an alarming rate. There's a difference between asking a genuine question that sparks discussion and debate, and this sort of thing.
