In a thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=563327) that seems to have become a bit image spammy, this was posted:

I'd call that highly inappropriate.

Done already (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13936486), Kryo. Almost three hours earlier, by Trollgaard.

Pro your report: you weren't involved in the image spamming, etc.
Contra your report: you should have checked Moderation before reporting. Your appeal is less specific ("inappropriate" doesn't really mean anything. It could just as easily mean "off-topic" as "offensive.")

It certainly is NOT appropriate. Image deleted.

Um, Sirocco?

Trollgaard reported this same post earlier. If, as you say, context and motivation are irrelevant, why did you rule on Kyronea's complaint instead of Trollgaard's?

Surely, multiple Moderation threads on the same post should be discouraged. If it was a matter of a few minutes, the later complaint could be excused ... but surely Kyronea should have checked the other recent Moderation threads, and posted his "yes, this is inappropriate" complaint in the earlier thread?

Of course I am not asking that Kyronea be warned for posting a duplicate complaint. I'm just curious, to these two questions:

Is a "here look at this post" complaint like Kyro's preferable to a "hey, this is disrespectful of X" post like Trollg's?
Does being an involved party at the time of the complaint (as Trollgaard was) render their complaint less legitimate?

Or Sirocco saw the other thread earlier?

Or, he saw one first and there's no need to deal with the same problem twice?

I think BunnySaurus is looking too deeply into my grand philosophy of moderation.

Anyway, since this is resolved, I lock.
