This probably isn't actionable, but I'm getting sick to the teeth of threads that haven't got a THING to do with Communism or political debate of any kind getting spammed with unnecessary and unwanted propaganda.

The thread in question is someone asking for help in dealing with apostrophes in the English language, for cryin' out loud. Must he spread his class-war spam feces all over every thread?

C'mon, exercise that famous General tolerance, ability to embrace all posters, readiness to accept different points of view and insanely excessive fondness for spam. So one poster made a joke, in-character for the persona he adopts online. So live with it.

Seriously, there are plenty of Generalites who harp on only one string. When it's disrupting the forums, we act. The poster concerned already has one infraction this week via the neat little addition to the mods' toolbox. Let's see if the hint is effective.

I don't have a problem with Andaras making those sorts of comments, because it's Andaras and it's expected and even amusing sometimes.

What I DO have a problem with is when other people don't seem to get the joke and start a long-ass discussion on it.

Then explain it politely, without flaming either the newcomer or Andaras. If they say But mods should act! (etc), link them to this thread. If they're truly offended, they can post here and we'll assess the complaint.

Yeah. I just realized, after getting over myself, that Andaras is becoming a part of the flora and fauna of NSG. In the same way that we expect pies and tacos from LG, we should expect mindless Marxist rhetoric in any thread Andaras enters. In a way, it's kind of reassuring.

Apostrophes are a tool of the Bourgeois classes to oppress the proletariat by putting extra stuff into words we were trying to make shorter. It's an obvious capitalist ploy to make us buy more punctuation.

And besides... what IS an apostrophe? It's just a comma with delusions of grandeur, climbing to the top of the word on the sweaty backs of hard working letters.
