Is my other Nation forum banned?

I had a nation, Mauiwowee, that I played and posted on regularly a few years back. I stopped posting and playing and let Mauiwowee "die" a natural death several years back. At that time I had never received anything more than a possible warning (don't even recall any of those however).

I recently revived Mauiwowee, but when I try to log into the forums and post it won't let me. When I click the link in the email to activate forum privileges I receive an error message that indicates I am most likely banned.

I have sent in 2 requests for assistance and received no reply as of yet - so, I would just like to know, is Mauiwowee forum banned for some reason. I'll live with it if so (though I would be curious to know the reason why), if not, what do I need to do to get Mauiwowee's forum posting privileges back?

Thank you for you time and responses.

Sorry, I thought you'd been notified of the problem.

Your ban isn't actually a ban. You hadn't posted in over a year, and as a result your forum account was purged. You don't currently have a forum account to unban.

Our mod tools weren't designed to handle this situation, as up until the recent account purge, all deceased nations still had Jolt accounts. We're trying to get a resolution to this situation, but it requires work on both the Jolt and NS sides of things, and we're having some coordination difficulties. Also, the original author of the Jolt interface is no longer with the company, so we're having to reverse-engineer this jury-rigged database-to-HTML-to-game interface. Needless to say, it's not easy.

You're far from alone in this. I revived 4 puppets this morning for some testing before I found one with a valid forum account. Many older nations have the identical problem. It's every bit as inconvenient for us as it is for you.

In the meantime, you are not banned as a moderation effect, only as a tech glitch. Feel free to post with your new/alternate nation.

Apologies all 'round.

Thank you Frisbeeteria, I appreciate the reply. Nice to know you're still here too. :hail:

I shall wait patiently for a fix to come down the pike at an indefinite future date.

so... to understand this. nations that haven't posted for a year can still play nationstates, but not post in the forums... correct?

Not necessarily. It's spottier than that. For instance, if you rezzed a nation or changed your email, you might have triggered 'activity' in your forum account. Since we can't see the forum account database, it's purely speculation at this point.

We're pushing for a 'Recreate Forum Account' functionality to be added to mod tools, but until then it's mostly just random. Of course, you can continue to play the game regardless of forum access.
