I find it highly offensive. It is just like any other slur.

As I'm the one he's lodging the complaint specifically (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13841117&postcount=41) against...

Previous rulings have held that USian can be flaming or baiting if used in that manner, but a blanket censoring of the term doesn't make sense.

As I've pointed out, I've been consistent in my use of the term during my time here. I don't think I've used the term 'American' past my first few posts. Nor am I rabidly anti-'American'.

You don't need a brown uniform and some black facial hair to be offensive.

honestly lets just have a poll on the word and be done with it

that is if NS is that super cool society that decides if words that lack a derogatory meaning can count as offensive...you get what I mean

NSG is not a democracy.

Personally, I hate the term; however, I do believe it was previously said not to be baiting unless someone was using it with the intent to rile people.

We're not going to stop people from using the term USian, that'd be as silly as the term itself, but we do take a dim view on flamebaiting. So I'd suggest everyone is free to use the term, just don't antagonise people with it.

I'm not American myself though, so if any of my colleagues want to weigh in on this, feel free.
