Given your posting, I'd say that's a perfectly valid assumption. Would you rather him assume that you don't know anything because you haven't learned it yet or because you're an idiotic buffoon?
I might've been a little close to flaming too (Please edit my posts if I was, I'm still a little pissy, and that always clouds my judgement), but I'm certain Callisdrun is flaming right there with calling me an idiotic buffoon.

On the first complaint, it looks like a paraphrase of the Mark Twain* quote, "It is better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt." I don't see it as actionable.
