(I apologise if I'm not wording the request in the proper form, but I'm a newb at requesting mod...)

Anyway, I'd guess that the following posts have crossed the defamation deadline.

first hint:

(...) name escapes me it dosen't matter because most Italians are cheats (...)

second hint:

(...) those cheating latin bastards (...)

(obviously those "cheating latin bastards" being us italians, again)

I already explained that it wasn't racism it was an observation on a group of people over many years on their mentality and how they play. Just because it may be a negative trait doesnt mean it is racism.

It is also why I wrote most and not all.

Latin isn't just exclusive to Italians, it covers Spain Greece Some parts of France the Balkans, I should have said Mediterranean types.

This solves the problem: it's not racism, just plain old ignorance. :D

lol, I know I am not using the right terms here perhaps a map with a big red line would clarify everything.

And as ignorance isn't a bankable offence I will pleads that if necessary. (Or am I ignorant on that as well)

Apart from the iffy definitions of ethnicities ("Greece=Latin"... don't let any Hellenikos hear you, or Croatians not being recognised as Slavs) and of "mediterranean types" (there are plenty of blondes in Sicily, descentants of various german immigrations...), or forgetting that 3/4 of the Swiss languages are neo-latin (but the Swiss are stereotipically so "unlatinly" clean and ordered, aren't they)...

Anyway, applying a "negative trait" to an ethnically-identified (or geographically-identified, so much for big red lines) group of people (or "most" of it) and justifying it with an "observation over many years" is the quintessence of racism.

It's nowhere different from saying "most gypsies are thieves and kidnappers", "most black people are lazy savages", "most Arabs stink", "most jews are money-grubbing Scrooges, oh, excuse me, I should have said Semitic types", just to make some examples of some racistical stereotypes you can hear throughout Europe.

And he's broad-brushing on it. Which makes it racism, or at the very least geographical prejudice.

But then again, what do I know, I'm Brazilian, and all Brazilians know about are samba (which I don't dance or watch during Carnaval) football/soccer (which I can't play well at all), and drug smuggling (which is why I'd get killed after five minutes in any bad neighborhood in the world). ;)

Maybe you should just keep this opinion to yourself. You know it bothers him, so by repeating it, aren't you just baiting? It's not even something that can be discussed really.

Oh I know I used wrong terms, which is why I should have changed it to Mediterranean, you can't deny the Greeks that, or the Croats. In regards to the Swiss while three of their four languages may have been derived from Latin doesn't necessarily translate into their culture, despite the other language covering 60% of the country.

However, they way your fellow countrymen play which is in the culture is to bend the rules and not play in the spirit of the game, now that isn't racism that is a comment on their playing style, if you see it as a negative statement then maybe you should review yourself, it is the same way as saying that the Netherlands play defensively. I you think I was being racist you are sorely mistaken because there is nothing racist over what I said, I could have been a lot more, but unfortunately you would never have got the reference.

Smunkee maybe I should have, but the fact of the matter is, is that Italy had to resort to cheating to help them win the World Cup.

I'm gonna go with Trostia on this one. Blouman Empire, stereotypes != truth. Watch your phrasing more carefully.

And since this STILL isn't General, locking.
