When I have to spend more time managing the reporting thread than the actual complaint, that's indicative of a serious problem.

I may have to start issuing bans for people who decide to waste Moderation forum space and my time with this sort of bickering. At the very least, it would give us a break from this nonsense for a while.

All right, that's it.

Steel Butterfly, Jocabia, both of you are now ordered to stay away from each other. You don't get along, that's fine. You don't even like each other, that's great. Don't make your problem our problem. Stay away from each other and let us handle things.

I'll be sending telegrams to make sure I get through loud and clear, but here's the talking points:

1) It's a good thing both of you report flamers. You're just doing what you think is right and we can't nick you for that.

2) It's a bad thing that there's this antipathy towards each other, but no one is holding guns to your head telling you to rag on each other. We, on the other hand, are more than capable of holding deletes and bans to your accounts and telling you not to rag on each other. Consider this done.

3) I personally don't care whether one of you thinks there isn't a problem, or the problem is just with the other person. Clearly, effectively, there's a problem between you two. Fix it.

4) As for the wannabe-mod cries, neither of you have a snowball's chance in the center of the sun, so don't worry on that account. Neither one. If you're inspired to help because helping's the thing to do, go right on ahead; if you're inspired to help because you're just looking for brownie points, well, we can do without the drama associated so you may as well give up.

I'm sure there's going to be some desire to lawyer the rules a bit, so I'm going to come down hard. You two are to have as much to do with each other as a waterbear and galaxy M31. That is to say: outside of sharing the same universe and having a mutual gravitational attraction inversely proportional to the square of your distance, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Should this flare up again, you have my word that you will both regret it.
