I've seen arguments implying that all men participate in patriarchal oppression, that all Americans are responsible for all past American policies, and that all humans are responsible for global warming. None of those strike me as flaming or flamebaiting, despite them painting with a rather broad brush and perhaps being ridiculous. I'm not sure how this particular argument is any better or worse.
Really, the other poster is just giving back as good as they got from you. I'm glad to see that it hasn't descended into flaming.
