I'll point out that OP said she were aware of the rule to stick to the designated thread and chose to ignore because she didn't like that rule. According to her, she tends to do that from time to time.

A) Perhaps she should be made aware that following the rules isn't voluntary
B) This again highlights the current problem with the giant thread.

The "giant thread" is essentially a conversational black hole. I do not often post in it because any argument I am trying to make gets lost in the sea. I was unaware that it was the policy of Nationstates moderators to limit discussion on certain topics. While trying to avoid sounding too sarcastic, I wonder openly at the speed with which a moderator pounced on a duplicate election thread when we have far more duplicates in other topics (type in gay marriage or some other hot-topic and you'll hit a whole slew of threads on it).

This (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13642451&postcount=16), particularly this bit:
With Jolt providing Today's Posts, Thread Subscription and a User CP that lets you re-jig the page/post order to see the most recent first, election junkies can get their fix fairly easily anyway.

Unless you were giving me a hint to get cracking on the yard-work? :p

It's not, but it is our policy to try to keep the forum menus uncluttered. Hence the official threads on the US elections, which will be stickied as soon as the Democrats choose a candidate.

You set 'em up, we'll knock 'em down. It's in everybody's interests to keep the forums usable.

... a moderator pounced ...

No I didn't, I zapped. Kat's the one who pounces. A subtle difference of style, but important to artistes such as ourselves.

So after the election is over, then?

Close it and I'll start another. How about that?

So after the election is over, then?

I'm guessing that for a while there'll be post-mortems on the election and it'll be easier to keep those in the stickied threads, the way comments continue to trickle in after a resolution is voted on in the World Assembly.

But once that dies down, the threads'll be unstickied (unstuck?) and it's back to normal -- Liberty Hall!

Within reason, that is.

@Jocabia: *martyred sigh* No, I'll do it, I'll do it, I tell ya, no need to go on about it, I'll do it ... in the morning, when I'm fresh ... I will so do it! Are you tryin' t'say I'm lazy? Well, let me tell you ... *neighbours phone cops again*

Hang on, hang on. I was in the middle of doing it when the boss interrupted me with some work.

EDIT: Dunnit. Doubt you'll like it. Tough. Here. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13655735#post13655735)
