Why isn't relegious debate aloud?

Heres my problem. On International Incidents a guy started an IC topic promoting a pretty nasty relegious group (The Church of Latterday Saints of Jesus Christ), whose crimes include, among racism, sexism, homophobia and bigotry mass organised child rape. They're 'prophet' was the FBI's most wanted for several years, and is currently awaiting trial for various charges, including over 1,200 cases of child rape. Yes, 1,200.

Naturally i saw a problem with this. So after posting a brief OOC detailing my issues with the relegion and his suport of it, I began running an IC of protesters protesting. My post was then deleted.

I bellieve that if someone is able to post in suport of an extremist group, i should then be able to post in protest against said exrtremist group. Obviously this is not the case, and i would like to know why.

Now, I may be wrong, but I'd assume that discussing religion OOC in II is a nono because that's what General is there for and II is for role-playing...

Perhaps. But he had brought it up with his name, nevermind his posts which also suported it, and i was expressing my disgust. If he can raise relegious issues i should be able to respond.

Rules for the two roleplay forums grant explicit rights to the thread originator. He can request that posts be deleted from HIS thread, and we will do so on request (as long as it doesn't get to be a constant thing, of course).

By the same token, a nation can found a region and use his founder powers to keep all dissenters out of his region. It's a political game, and despots are part of politics.

Note that there's nothing stopping you from starting your own thread roleplaying your nation's protest of his actions, up to and including wars and whatnot. Getting the other player to participate may be a problem, of course, but that's something you'll have to deal with. You can also open up a real world dialogue in General, though you'll still have issues.

Politics is a dirty business. That's part of what this site can teach. Find a way to respond, and you'll have learned something.
