In my thread which I have marked as Semi-CLOSED, which is an IC Thread for IC comments by signed participants.
If people want to ICly protest my nation, fine in the proper IC forum in the proper IC format. But as I said, it is closed to comments from anyone but participants who have signed on and the IC post while it is an opinion, I don't think it has grounds in the I.I. forum.

I'd have to agree with you on the charge, but that's moderator territory, not mine.
Mine, however, amounts to a question: what does semi-closed mean exactly? A thread is either open to the community, or closed to certain people. It can't really be both when one is opposite to the other.

I've seen Semi-Open Semi-Closed used before on other threads. I take it really means you can still sign up for it, even though the IC is active. and my thread is still open for more sign ups

But if you can still sign up for it, that makes it open...
Oh well...sorry for the hijack...just kinda bothered me.

*shrug* I don't know, that is what I would assume. Like I've said, I've seen several threads branded as semi-open or closed

I think he/she means that while it is open, people need to sign-up and play by some agreed upon rules. Just a guess.

For what it's worth, this is what I work on:
Open (or without any category specified) means just jump in with a post. If the story's really under way, it's polite to TG the originator first.
Open with OOC thread means put your character's details in the OOC for ready reference, then start RPing in the IC thread, going back to the OOC for plot discussions, etc.
Semi-closed means TG the original poster for permission to join, jump in if you get it, back off with no whining if you don't.
Semi-closed, attn X,Y and Z, means you're not likely to get it if you're not X, Y or Z, but you can try TGing.
Closed means Keep Out, This Means You!
Individuals have variations on this, but it's worked without too much hassle for me.

This doesn't deal with the underlining issue - He was using IC to promote what many consider the most evil relegios sect in the world, one openly promotes child rape - even his name is an endorsement. If he is able to support an extremist group here, i should be able to denounce said group.

I kind of doubt with that precedent that any action will be taken against someone RPing an FLDS nation.

Roleplay. Run with it.

Roleplay. Run with it.
What he said.
The underlying roleplay points were: if you want to protest actions in an in-character thread, you do it in-character. If the thread has been restricted by the original poster, you respect that restriction.
You are free to roleplay, in your own thread, your nation's relations with other nations.
Mods intervene in RPs when they contravene the rules of the forum. This doesn't.
EDIT: As Fris has dealt with this in your other thread, I'm locking this one.
