Exactly why we need RP Judges

It is an ad for an off-site RPing game, which is illegal, a non-In Character or IC-related post in an IC RPing forum, which is illegal, and an RP involving real life territories and situations, which is illegal.

Actually, I would think that it is not. You can advertise for an off-site forum since it's no longer under the jurisdiction of jolt, though you cannot RP RL stuff on the boards itself. It's still roleplay.

This kind of stuff has been dealt with many times in the past. But then again, lets let the mods decide.

Counsel will approach the Bench.

It is my understanding that this case falls under the precedents established in the case of Real Earths vs International Incidents (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=528525), in which His Honour Mr Justice Scolopendra ruled, and I quote,

Summary: Yes, you can recruit for off-site alternate history boards of your own devising, so long as it isn't the only thing you do. 'Cuz that would be adspamming.

Er.. Question, can we post an interest thread for Alt History and people can sign up and then could we created an off-site forum to actually do the roleplay?

Yeah, that should be fine.

From the brief presented by the prosecution, and not contested by the defence, I find that The Scandinvans did recruit for an off-site alternate history board and did post an interest thread.

I find further that it is not ad-spamming, as The Scandinvans does a great deal more than merely advertise off-site RPs.

Furthermore, though this aspect is not cogent to Mr Justice Scolopendra's ruling, I note that said off-site is not an office of profit under the Crown, or, indeed, a source of profit to The Scandinvans in any way.

I therefore rule that:

It is RP-related, and consequently I do not order its relocation to the Gameplay display area. However, I welcome further advice from my fellows of the Bench on this topic.

It is an expression of interest, and, as such, must go no further. I have therefore imposed restrictions on further development of this area (ie, I've closed the thread). Customers must contact the developer directly. (ie, TG The Scandinvans).

The Scandinvans infringes no copyright in adding a reference to the development on his business cards (ie, you can put a link in your sig).

Case dismissed.

There we are. Honestly, though, I think just having mods is more convenient and less wordy.

That works for me. Although I really think you had FAR too much fun with that. :p

I'll have a turkey on rye, with some mayo, mustard, lettuce, pickles, and a root beer for a drink.

*ducks down and runs away* :D

On topic, that's good information to know.
