Another merge request

As it was done with the political threads, I think the religion ones should all be merged into one too. There are too many and all basically discuss the same topic from different angles.

Aye, there are a few too many of those religion threads. Wouldn't mind some more threads on Libertarianism Vs Determinism and Epistemology and Mussolini. Of course this has nothing to do with what i'm studying at the moment. Honest.

They're pretty much all the same topic, just variations thereof.

If you're suggesting merging the threads you quoted, I'm not gonna do it. The ones I clicked on (and I didn't work all the way down your list) aren't all on the same topic. Anyway, religious threads often verge off into disparate aspects of the original topic (such as the interesting suggestion in one of them that women have a place in the celery ...).
Or, I've noticed as a devoted lurker, they develop into esoteric discussions in strange words of things I didn't previously even have concepts for. (I love those ones.)
I'm assuming, though, that you weren't suggesting that sort of merge, since it would make another massively obese thread, not to mention pulling the rug unkindly from under those who made their "religion" threads without ever having had the least hint they might be merged.
One suggestion has been that a separate forum be created for discussing religion. The thread containing that idea is still alive here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13534163#post13534163), if you'd like to comment.
I personally don't think we need a catch-all religion thread on the same basis as the current US election thread, because the election's going to be over some time soon, whereas religion, apparently, isn't.
I can see that it would reduce clutter, but I think General benefits from a certain kind of clutter. It makes it like those really good bookshops where you just know there's something really interesting at the bottom of the stack of books balanced on top of the ladder up there.
This is just my individual opinion, though.
I agreed with the merge when I first saw this thread, but I have to say this, "It makes it like those really good bookshops where you just know there's something really interesting at the bottom of the stack of books balanced on top of the ladder up there", entirely changed my mind. Nice analogy and what an excellent way to look at NSG.

I respect your opinion there. I just thought the religion threads were too many. But I think that your explanation pretty much covers why they shouldn´t be.
Now, I want to ask which thread has the comment that women have a place in the celerey? I can´t stop laughing!:D

That was in my Christian Women... thread.
