This is something I don't know where to get mod help or answers on...

I have my own region and as such, I control who can come in and who can stay. I know I can password it. But I decided against it since it looked like a nation who was trailing me had ceased and desisted (we have an ongoing cold war and I got sick of their BS), that I didn't need a password.

So, this morning I logged into Farflorin first and checked the report, as well as the regional board. In the listing I found the nation of 'The Nationstates Bunny' in the happenings, as someone who had come and gone. They didn't appear to spam regional happenings though, but they left a trail; a hell of a long trail.

I clicked on the nation to learn more, wondering why they left so quickly. I noticed that they have a history of being banned. I followed suit and banned them because while I was following what seems to be an endless trail, I found messages saying that there were issues around this nation and that people received TGs asking to ban this nation from the region. Though I can see why, since they did an awful lot of region jumping...

While I don't ever recall seeing this type of behaviour as contrary to the rules for NationStates, I have to admit, I am baffled and am wondering what the mods think of this, and if this is acceptable behaviour for a nation that seems to have a VERY large population. Examination of this nation yielded one clue for sure that this nation is NOT new, not by any stretch of the imagination...

Would any mods be able to enlighten me?

And if someone is also familiar with this who got a TB advising them to ban this nation be able to contribute valuable knowledge to this, please do.

He Uses a script to hop from region to region (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/the_nationstates_bunny.html)

it's been declared legal.

The problem is that he hasn't been used much, so people have forgotten him.

I wonder if (s)he region hops only once per year. ;)

what a strange nation. Imagine never being able to settle in one area, i'd never be able to do that.

The NS Bunny is entirely legitimate and entirely harmless. While there's no real need to ban him from your region, you are of course entirely within your rights to do so should you wish.

Ok, thanks guys.

Though I don't like regional happening spam, hence my reason for banning.

At least it's cleared up. :)

He used to be about all the time - I myself used to quite look forward to seeing him hop through - but he hasn't for a while. I suppose the player has brought the nation out of retirement for the special occasion.

More importantly, where's his script? It'd be good for my SesonzGreetingz puppet. Though the legality of me using it is questionable of course.

While the script is rule breaking.... it was a nice bit of fun. kinda like Google's pic changes.

Ok, these are now binding (though still up for discussion)

1. No script may send unsolicited telegrams. (1 reply message is permitted to a received telegram)
2. No script may post regional messages without permission of founder (or delegate if no founder exists). Edited
3. No script may access the forums (ie, any page with a URL starting with http://forums.jolt.co.uk/)
4. No script may kick or ban nations (unless controlled by the region's founder).
5. Scripts may not be used to endorse or unendorse other nations.
6. Scripts may not access the server excessively.
7. No script may create a nation. Edited
8. No script may create a region. Edited
9. Any Game Moderator, Admin, or Tech Modling may judge a script to be legal or illegal, separate from the above guidelines.

And old, too. The Bunny predates the script rules, and there was a time when there was a whole region full of animals that would race through the game from time to time. That got a little spammy, though...

So it's like some old Tom Bombadil of NSG?

Nah, I don't believe the Bunny was ever active on the forums. He just hopped through the regions all day. Less like Tom Bombadil and more like Halley's Comet.
