Query Re the "Gameplay" forum...

Earlier today I posted in this thread: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=550943

I followed that from another link, and didn't terribly pay attention to which forum it was in. Just now I was looking, and noticed the thread was in the gameplay forum.

It has been my understanding that the gameplay forum's purpose was to serve as a forum for the non-RPed functions of the game (regional raiding and that sort of stuff) a la: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=499394

However, I see a few meta-RPs of this same sort there.

Should these be moved to NS or should GP's description be modified?

I think the logic is the same as that behind having Gameplay host the off-site forums list (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=464673), Daistallia. The threads you quote are information -- nation description -- rather than the sort of roleplay that involves characters or would make a difference to a nation's history.

Plus the fact that, for each argument for putting one of them in II, there's a competing reason for putting it in NS.

If you'd like to formulate a more embracing description of Gameplay, or suggest an Information forum, there's a sticky over in Technical about ideas for revamping the forums.

If, on the other hand, it's not just coincidental that all these potentially rulebreaking threads have mods contributing to them, and it happens to be St Patrick's Day, and there's a spirit of mischief in the air -- the Guinness is flowing like water in the Strangers' Bar, the official brawl/singsong/shenannigans begin at noon and my President, Dicey Reilly, can lick any mage in the house. If she's not there, start without her.

Excellent. The last time I suggested in info/meta-RP type forum, someone shot it down. From your suggestion, it sounds like it may be time to float it again. :)
