Hello, I am currently writing a guerrilla warfare manual for my nation. I have received a complaint about it and was wondering if you guys could check it out. If there is anything you need/want me to take out I will. Please consider it was part of a game and not an endorsement of real life violence. Thanks.

Not a mod, but I'm pretty sure anything with detailed descriptions of how to make dangerous and illegal substances is... well, illegal.

OK... well at least in my country it is not against the law to display any of this information... so like... should I go by that?

I guess it doesn't much matter anymore since the administrator deleted the thread... but come on, it couldn't have all been deletion worthy.. could you please specify what you want taken out and let me keep the rest... I mean wilderness survival information can't be all toooo dangerous (unless you are afraid NS will get sued when some kid gets lost in the woods)...

Plus... I sorta doubt terrorists/little kids are scouring the NS forums looking for technical info on bomb making... thats what the rest of the internet is for.

Just my little granule of knowledge, but I must say that there is a difference between writing up how to make illegal substances and making them. For example, with explosives: the knowledge isn't illegal, but intention to use that knowledge is.
I know too much about explosives, yet I don't want to bomb anywhere. It's only when you get nutcases who actually want to carry out their knowledge that makes it a bad idea.
I would also have to protest against any disallowance of it, due to the free speech that is allowed on the internet: I could post up how to make a thermonuclear weapon on here, and I wouldn't be breaking any law since I would not be actually intending to make such a device.
And, for heaven's sake, he's writing it for story purposes. I severely doubt he is writing it just so that people can download it and use it to commit acts of terrorism.

I know that the argument I am presenting here could be worked on quite a bit and expanded into a nice long debate, but in some cases concise statements work. If you can present me with any legal material or forum guidelines that state that what he is doing is against either the law or against forum policies, I will back down on my argument.

are you talking RL Country or Nationstates Country?

I would suggest a "New on the Shelves" list and a "Weekly Bestsellers" list. then you can post titles such as...

"Home-Made Fireworks: Fun for the Whole Family"
"Legal Loopholes: Literally Getting Away With Murder"
"Electronic Marvels: Making a 'Smart House'"

then you can give the gist of the type of information without actually going into the details.

I was referring to RL. As Alf pointed out there is no moratorium on this sort of info on the net, in books, etc. You can go to any bookstore or library and find this information and worse all totally legally.

I merely wanted to know NS's opinion on what I should take out. Apparently, they thought I should take it all out and the thread was deleted. So I guess there isnt much of a debate anymore.

You're providing recipes for black powder and showing diagrams on how to maim people with spike traps. We're a site utilized by schools, for pete's sake.

Show some sense -- we don't need to be sued because a thirteen year old does any of this stuff.

I learned how to make black powder in high school chemistry class... and somehow i survived... lucky duck!

So: if I take out all technical information on traps/explosive making can I put the rest back up?

Contents of your thread telegrammed to you in case you wish to recycle some of it. You can talk about WHAT to do (use IEDs, use traps) but not tell how to create them and provide plans.

OK thanks that the info I wanted.

Point of info: if you got any of that from the Anarchist's Cookbook, DON'T try it at home.

Tough. This site is NOT your high school chemistry class.
