Someone Might Need to Calm Down

I can understand CToaN's frustration and I even share it, but I think CToaN went a little overboard here:

If you'd have addressed me directly I would have capitulated. I know that's what mods are for, but I'm not unreasonable.

I know. And I think Ardi knew too...she just gave you a light slap on the wrist. I just figured you'd listen more to a mod doing that than me. After all, I did say I share your frustration.

Hmph! That wasn't a light slap on the wrist. That was a dousing with a soda-siphon.

Well...same idea.

You can see my 'explanation' in my response to Luizzo-mostly it's just a wounded pride because I don't like ending up here. I'm no boy scout by a long shot but I'm not an idiot which is generally what I think you have to be to end up here. But re-reading it without my 'personal voice' context, that was an idiot moment. And now I'm all seltzered.

I'm not even sure the seltzering was necessary, prima facie. None of the expletives were directed at the quoted poster. The line between "I can't fucking believe you think that" and "fuck you" might get lost in the fog of expletives, but it is there, and, in the post shown here, it wasn't crossed.

However, the necessity of said seltzering is justified in the sense of cooling things off before the line was crossed. CToaN is a most noble poster (Boy Scout or not), and even the best of them can get provoked into tangential contact with the line by the right combination of frustrative elements.

All in all, well handled...as if my opinion mattered.
