Good morning, I am wondering what the official policies are for Earth II recruitment? I would like to begin such a campaign to try to get newbies to join and what not but I do not want to break any of the rules. Forgive me for playing things safely [all those rebels out there] but what good would I accomplish getting banned for idiocy. Earth II, as you mods are aware, is definitely within the definition of acceptable Earths as it does not use real-life nations, just real-life land area in conjunction with NS nations.

I hunted through the Alternate History thread in II and came on this: Summary: Yes, you can recruit for off-site alternate history boards of your own devising, so long as it isn't the only thing you do. 'Cuz that would be adspamming.

Yeah, that should be fine.

Seems to me that if it's okay to post an interest thread for an Alternate History forum that isn't within NS rules, then there shouldn't be any problem about doing the same for an Earth that is within NS rules. As you say, it's NS nations, they're just using RL land areas.

I know there was a question last year over where to put a thread that combined RP with recruiting. All I can say is, look at what's dominant. If RP is the main purpose of the thread -- if it's IC, and calls for IC responses -- then go for the RP forums. If it's straight-out "come join us here", try Gameplay.

Well let's it's a basic "Come and Join Us" type of post. We've been playing since Nov '04 here on Jolt in the I.I. forum but I wasn't sure whether or not it was okay to actually post a recruiting thread. We've never flat out done that before so.

Hmm -- I don't want to say anything that could be construed as "it's open season on advertising specific RPs in Gameplay", or we'll have it choked with "Invitation to Princess Deliria's Ball" posts.

Look, what you're planning would be a bit like the OOC set-up thread for an RP, wouldn't it? New people would have to reply, asking if they could come in. So it should fit into II.

If there were a region called Earth II, there'd be no problem about advertising it in Gameplay.

Yeah no region, probably won't be either. So I guess I could do this:

Earth II Interest / Recruitment Thread [OOC]

Come join E2, we have land open blah blah blah

Looks irreproachable to me. Sound the charge and go for it!
