Could this thread be closed? I tried to start a thread in a language I felt would be nice to practice, but it's been invaded by pointless spam and I should have seen it coming. Now I know there is no thread ownership in General, but since the thread has already shown it will amount to a big, fat nothing, I think it should be put out of its misery.
Mods only, please.

Thank you. I won't start a new non-English thread, but thanks for the suggestion. I have a new thread about motives for derailing threads, though.
the Mods might want to keep an eye on that thread. it seems rather confrontational.
