In the two days since those comments were made, the thread has cooled down considerably (thanks in great part to Ifreann's advocacy of the engaging candidate Grey Rock).

Greater Trostia recognised he was threadjacking and withdrew from the thread. Trollgaard came round to a "fair enough" position. I think the Generalites have dealt with it on their own. GT TGd, however.
