I noticed this little gem in a signiture. In the signiture of The New True Cruss, he has a textual link to another online RPG game. It's at the bottom of his signiture.

Eh, that's fine; Hack has a similar thing in his sig, and if I bothered with signatures mine would probably link to urbandead.com. The ruling against advertising other games is mainly for when people come along and actively try to steal players ("Join NayshunStaytz 'cos NationStates sux!"). We may have enforced it a trifle overzealously in the past.

Alright. Just making sure. Wasn't sure if it was allowed or not so I figured that I should ask here before mentioning anything to him.

Also, to further clarify, his link isn't an out-war variant, and its presence isn't obscene or distracting. His link (and mine) are more along the lines of "Hey, I play this and think it's neat"; he used the name of his game, and I've used the tag line of mine.

Subtlety is key.

So if I linked a game, say, for example, Sea Powers (http://www.seapowers.com/), it would be ok?

We're not really wanting to let any of our forums turn into "Go play this COOL GAME!!!1!" threads, but we're not outlawing reasonable mentions. It's not a referral link, so it doesn't break that rule.

In your sig, normal or smaller size, that would be fine. Mentioning it in a relevant thread (though I'm not sure what would be relevant), also fine.
Subtlety is key.
Take that to heart, please.
