Mystic Skeptic, in the post your quote, Murayvets is using a device, the name of which I can't remember, though I'm sure one of our many experts will post the minute this appears to tell me. Bathos, maybe? (Not reductio ad absurdum, that's logic; I mean the literary one.)
Anyway, it's the one where you pile terrible thing on terrible thing, and then, when you get to what's obviously going to be the worst of the lot, you say something that's really minor and not bad at all. And everyone laughs. The smiley underlines that he's nor really serious about the abuse (though don't paint flamey posts with smilies, we've all tried that and it doesn't work).
Point is, posts like that are one of the ways of keeping debates civil; saying what you want to say, but with a grain of humour.
What you're been saying in the posts Neo Art quoted is not civil. Nor are the "links" you gave humorous -- just one might have worked to diffuse tension, but using them to further abuse your opponent doesn't.
Although I warned you before about flaming, and now you're flamebaiting, I don't want to ban you because (1) it just seems mean to ban someone who virtually dobbed himself in (2) both you and the thread have taken a calmer turn [EDIT: wrong thread, right post (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13281781&postcount=368)] and (3) your conversation with the (completely sober) BunnySaurus Bugsii shows that you could be an interesting poster to have around.
So please, if you can't interact civilly with someone, use the Ignore function rather than get yourself banned.
Oh, BTW -- my earlier comment about "the win/lose nonsense" was addressed to you, not Jocabia.

sorry, but I don't see that as a joke punchline. I see it as a flame with a smiley. Where is the 'really minor not that bad' punchline? Is it "Bastard :)" ?
Funny - it is, how you look at the links NA posted, but not to the continual baiting of Jocabia in that thread whcih he has even carried over to other threads.
I'm sure that you are busy and really don't have the time/interest in doing that, but it certainly is a consideration when all I was doing was telling him that I would not be cowed by his continued flamebaiting of me.
I can live with his sophomoric argument that no comparison is valid unless someone else has already made it, but I had already been contemplating reporting him for over three pages of flamebaiting - and carrying that to other threads. Like you - I really don't have the time / interest to go through and link every post where he baited me. Now I guess I should.

All of these are baiting me in one form or another - either outright, through using a straw man, or just boring repetition. All because I had the gall to make a comparison that nobody has already published. When I responded with that I only got more of the same grief and reference to my 'argument' (a comparison is an argument?) somehow losing....
Which leads to my final question then, why would you warn ME about quitting the win/lose nonsense when it is Jocabia who was the one who has consistently used it - even after your warning. I don't recall once saying something which could be construed a win/lose comment. Jocabia meanwhile gets a free pass? That looks alot like a double standard...
To add insult to injury you threaten to BAN me because I responded to Jocabias bait with the simple, and factual, observation that if he cannot debate something as simple as a comparison he is ill equipped to debate me at all. That pointing out to him that claiming my 'argument' (the comparison he refused to respond to) was "full of holes" is nonsense. (aka - he does not know my argument because I did not make one) My reply had no more 'tone' than Jocabia's bait.
I fail to see how I "virtually dobbed mself" (you forgot your smiley) with anything I've written thusfar. I only see where some posters have baited me, reported my replies and sat back to watch you do their dirty work.
As far as my post to BSB, amazing what a difference it makes when someone addresses me with courtesy - perhapse you should suggest that to Jocabia & Co. As I said in my post to BSB - I will respond in kind to however I was addresed. If you think my responses to Jocabia or any other poster are out of line then I would implore you to consider how it was they engaged me first - and wether you think it fair to address only a snarky reply rather than the original snarky post.

Thank you for posting those links, Mystic Skeptic. I have been through them all again. Though occasionally tactless, and however boring, repetitive or straw-man-stuffed you may find them, they have a common theme: they're about the topic.
Where you diverge from forum rules is when you address insults to the poster behind the topic argument, as in, for example, this post (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13281362&postcount=390).
That thread was being hotly argued and you responded in kind; okay, that happens. There were borderline posts from yourself, Jocabia and The Cat Tribe, but not enough for mod intervention. Then you went too far, Jocabia reported it, I warned you and you kept on. That's why I considered banning you. What stopped me was your previous series of properly argued posts and your demonstration in the other thread that you are capable of reasonable behaviour.
On the point about the win/lose nonsense, you're right. I checked again and found you didn't start that. I apologise for that; note that it wasn't the cause of your warning.
I don't propose to continue playing post-quote ping-pong. I actually want you to stay around and continue posting, because a variety of vividly expressed views makes discussions more interesting. Just stick within the forum limits and within the argument, no matter what you think of others' posting styles.
