I don't know what to call this.

Flaming, flamebaiting, spamming, or just being stupid and bored.

Either way, it's currently going nowhere, it's basically an excuse for other players to rag on one guy (ICly and OOCly) rather than doing anything constructive. And that guy isn't exactly ameliorating the situation.

I closed it.

The phrase "beating a dead horse" comes to mind upon reviewing the thread.

Actually, Gens Romae was a DOS player who petitioned for reinstatement on the grounds that he would stop being an ass. Since he's gone back on that promise, DOS has been reinstated.

He was? Who was he before?

Or is that not going to get an answer?

I don't think that mods give answers to that...

To those asking: My nation was "Fourth Holy Reich," and I was so DOSed because I said that spousal rape shouldn't be a crime, and I advocated the extermination of the Jews (holding a Neo Nazi ideology). Also note, however, that I didn't do any of that as Gens Romae, since I had long ago put aside those silly beliefs. My offense consisted entirely in writing silly posts, by which I doubt anyone was seriously offended. To the mods, I ask that, since I didn't do anything overtly controversial or against the rules, that I be given my nation back. My offense wasn't really that great an offense.

Yet another player who thinks he was banned for his ideology, when in fact he was banned for continuing to troll again and again and again after being warned to stop.

There are plenty of pro-Nazi nations on NS who manage to espouse their chosen ideology (whether real or RP) without managing to break the rules. There are players who can (or do) bring off depictions of spousal rape without being an antagonistic troll about it. There are even players who are capable of adjusting their posting style to fit the rules, after being advised that failure to change will result in their deletion and/or banning. Gens Romae does not fall into any of those categories.

100% of rules-oriented activity in this game involves words typed into an internet browser, as does 100% of rules enforcement. Nice strawman, GR, but we're not buying it. The DOS will continue to be enforced.
