I have been civil and havn't flamed him nor cursed at him like he's been at me I wasn't even shown where I was out of line yet Imperial Brazil listed multiple infractions from Gift of God. Hardly seems fair that'd we'd get the same warning even though he has repeated his flames throughout the thread......2. I didn't even bring him to moderation so why was I dragged into this?

I'm not going to troll my own thread that I made..and even if my positions and my thread is quite conterversial, I kept it civil and argued my beleifs and didn't resort to flaming, UNLIKE what he did...yet even still I didn't bring him to moderation so why did I get a warning?

I'd like the have my warnigns given when I was actually causing problems, not carying on in a civil manner even though someone is calling me a moron and attacking my person instead of my arguements (pampered little white kid and all that garbage) and so on and so forth...

And by the way, I realize how convient this looks so I give the Mods full permission (not that they need it, just saying) to check to see that Imperial Brazil is not my puppet. (Cuz I'm pretty sure you guys can check those things).

Also, I'd have to comment that I beleive your ruling here: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13137651&postcount=47 should be similiar to here...since he's made literally multiple flames over and over again yet all he recieved is a warning which was the same I got.....

I guess it's one of those instances where unless it gets reported, the mods don't generally bother because it's rather mild. Normally those comments would probably just fly under the radar. After all, you can find something much like those in almost every post on General.

So your defense basically amounts to "he flamed me first" and "I wasn't as bad as the other guy".

The former is obviously not any kind of defense, and the latter seems entirely lacking in substance.

I don't see anything in the One-Stop Rules Shop entries on flaming and flamebaiting that suggests that one is worse than the other. And it even specifically contradicts the notion that vulgarity is worse than maintaining a veneer of politeness.

Flame: Expressing anger at someone in uncouth ways with OOC (out-of-character) comments (i.e. swearing, being obnoxious, threatening etc). It does to watch what you post IC (in-character) as well unless the other posters know you're not serious. You do not need to curse to be a flamer. Erudite slams while maintaining a veneer of politeness can also be considered flaming. Flaming in the forums should be reported in the Moderation forum, in the game itself, through Getting Help Page.

Flamebait: Posts that are made with the aim of angering someone indirectly. Not outright flame, but still liable to bring angry replies. Flame baiting is a far more subtle and covert action; it is an underhanded tactic that is designed to provoke a response from another player. It's in the same context of trolling but with flamebaiting it's just the one person.
