Hello,
I have really grown bored with the general. Is there any odd things I can do to help you guys out?

Aside from answering newbie's questions accurately when they pop up in one of the forums, I can't really think of anything.
I'd suggest that if you're bored, get involved in something else and come back to General later. That usually works for me. There's nothing wrong with taking some time off from an internet forum. :)

I can help the newbies.
Do they frequent any particular board?

*puff* You could take over the get-Reppy-Danish run if you like ...
Have you tried writing issues? Making maps? Drawing flags? Running a shopfront? Organising a region? Developing an NSWiki page (or getting involved in NSWiki work)? Making a puppet in a new region? Switching forums? Setting up an offsite?
I know this is just what Hotrod said, but sometimes a detail will spark an idea.
EDIT: Re newbies -- The feeders are where everybody starts. You could put an ad on their RMBs. Or lurk in Gameplay until somebody yells "Help!", and then send them a TG. (Though if people would just read the stickies ...)

Not really. The natural habitat of the newbie extends to the farthest reaches of NS and beyond.

Don't you Mods have errands that need to be completed - cleaning the house, a run to the shops, a report to finish - his question seems quite open-ended?
I often see people ask questions in the Gameplay and Technical boards. And I've seen newbie questions on feeder RMBs.
Dress up as a cheerleader, and cheer for your favorite mod as they are banning some troll. Also, provide pictures so we can all laugh. :)
In the end, everyone is happy. You help the mods out with their self confidence, which in turn makes you feel good, and makes us all feel good by seeing your pictures.

happens on occasion, if the spam doesn't wash it off :P

It's both good-natured and helpful. Why wouldn't we welcome it?
Thankyou, however, for your flattering but, alas, untrue assumption that no mod ever uses NationStates to procrastinate.

My point is he can aid your procrastination by cleaning your house and whatnot :)

For a brief but glorious moment I thought you meant mods could get fellow NSers to do the jobs we are putting off ...
Trolling: Scrub out the bathroom.
Flaming: Paint the kitchen.
Spamming: Do the washing-up ...
But someone freely offering help would have to be given something enjoyable -- weeding the garden with the help of the cats, for example -- and nobody puts off enjoyable jobs.

That would lead to serious problems :p

'Wha...what?'
Caveat: The day those two posts ever appear on NSG is the day I'll volunteer to clean your bathrooms myself though this is no invitation for people to start posting this.
Apologies for spamming Moderation as well - I cease here.

Me too. Work to be done, right?
