Linky (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13014394&postcount=62)

I was under the impression that forging/fixing quotes like this was frowned upon.

It happens quite a few times in that thread...

I humbly apologize for my participation of that and I deleted my offending post which also did a bit of quote re-write.

I think 'being annoying' and 'succumbing to the current NS craze' is what's frowned on, rather than that specific form of the disease.

(However, I missed a few months recently, so if there's been comment on this particular trick, please link me to it.)

Constantly altering another player's, or all other players', quotes would be flamebait, as would misquoting misleadingly, but in this thread I think it's just a series of cheap shots. If we made cheap shots subject to mod action, there wouldn't be a forum left open.

Equally, if it had got to the stage where a person coming into the thread couldn't work out what the 'fixed' poster actually did say without going back through a coupla pages, I'd have been bumping a few heads together, but it looks as if the Generalites have sorted it themselves.

That's fair enough :)

The last major mod action that I personally can remember was several years ago.
