Yes, for deleting the factbook I have been working on for my new fantasy-based nation.

I was reserving the first fifteen posts for my own writings, as I have done in both my other factbooks, and you decided to delete the entire thread because of those empty posts. I am sorry that the forum doesn't allow you to post the same thing within five minutes (although it seems to be spastic like that), or else I would have done it quicker...

It would be super keen-o neato to know what, precisely, is being talked about, to whom it is directed, where said thread was... anything that could possibly lead to an understanding of the problem?

Why don't you do the writing first, and THEN start posting it? Do you have a word processor? Notepad? A blank sheet of paper?

Creating a blank thread whose only content is "DO NOT POST" and 15 posts of "Reserved" is nothing but spam. That's why it was deleted.

What is obviously my fantasy factbook post...
It is being directed to the moderation team, but more precisely at Frist.
The said thread was in II.

It was "spam for about a day," and then some of the posts would be filled. I wanted to reserve the first fifteen posts in case somebody decided to ignore the giant DO NOT POST message and screw it up... I had some stuff written (as I was reserving the posts), but I decided to not post it yet in order to organize it best.

Is it that terrible that for one day there would be a thread with fourteen reserve posts? I knew it would take a while to reserve posts, so I figured I might as well get that done while I was working on it.

Such posts could have been deleted...

It annoys me as much to have the posts as to have little gaps where the posts were deleted.

And I bet you prefer your sandwiches with the crusts cut off, cut diagonally, and with smooth peanut butter instead of chunky peanut butter because crusty, parallel-cut, chunky peanut butter sandwiches are icky and gross.

This is going to be one of those "deal with it" situations, isn't it?

Deal with it.

Yup, called that one.

And yet apparently Mod. couldn't deal with having a thread of reserve posts for a day...

You're not the first, and I'm certain you won't be the last - this is a longstanding thing that's been enforced before. Just a heads up - you're no grand exception. And you don't make the rules. I'd imagine that's where the 'deal with it' comes in. The mods don't have to when they've set down a precedent.

Perhaps I could be of some assistance here being a Galactic Empire ally of DMG on II.

Here are some suggestions I'd like to make:

1) Do what Fris said. Write up the information before you post it up. Even just a paragraph or a sentence of what will be on the reserved post will be better than just "reserved."

Instead of just "reserved," put something like "Please don't reply for the next 14 posts, they're reserved for Gov. History/Structure/Ships/ect. DO NOT POST PLEASE" in the first one and then put "reserved" in the other posts so that at least the Mods will know that this is a fact book and not just a thread of spaming "reserved" posts.

2) Don't push the mods over the edge (Scolopendra esepcially had a trying day yesterday) with needless sarcastic replies. Not very wise thing to do. Besides, at this point it is best to just drop it and create a new fact book.

3) OR you could go to a website like freewebs.com (very easy to use) and type up all the "reserved" posts all you want without clotting up the NS forums with 'em and put the info on your gov. there without the fear of others posting within. Plus, IMO, it's a cooler way to design your info than using what NS has to offer (I got music going in the background of my websites)

Guess what: we don't have to deal with people breaking the rules except in such a way as to make them stop. You, however, do have to deal with our rules. If you don't like it, there's a big Information Superhighway out there you can go play in.

Good idea.

Bad idea. A long string of "reserved" posts is spamming, period. We have no evidence beyond someone's word (and, on the Internet, that does not go particularly far) that those reserved posts will ever be used.

It also makes the whole thing not our problem, which is fine by me.
