Need some help with the UN

I made two accounts and wanted them both in the UN so I used two different emails. I didn't do this to cheat as the two nations were in different regions. Anyway I want my main to rejoin the UN with my main email. Also at the time I assumed this rule only counted when you had two nations in the same region which I didn't have.

You may only have one nation in the UN at any time, and, unless I am very much mistaken, that is an absolute. You need to take one of your nations out of the UN immediately or you risk penalties on both of them.

From the FAQs on the main NationStates page:

>I have more than one nation. Can they all join the UN?

No. You may only have one nation in the UN at any given time. To enforce this, UN member nations must supply an e-mail address.

>What if I sneak them in using other e-mail addresses?

First up, don't. This is against the rules, and other people will be annoyed with you when they find out. It's a low, underhand thing to do. And the chances of getting caught are pretty high: the game uses four different methods to detect cheaters.

Nations that try to cheat their way into the UN will be expelled and prevented from re-joining. If you do it with multiple nations, they'll all be deleted, including your main nation. If you're especially annoying, you'll be banned from making any new nations, too. But don't make me do that.

Looks to me like you had thirteen accounts in the UN, not two.

Given that the FAQ (quoted above) is quite explicit, and the emails from the UN state "Note: You are not allowed to join more than one nation to the UN. If you do, the game will detect it and may delete all your nations., I think you can safely consider that adequate notification.

Appeal denied.

Kay, I have some advice. Number on, Frisbeeteria is a moderator. Flaming moderators is a really bad idea. Secondly, as a moderator, Fris has the ability to look up your various nations at will and see what they have done regarding the U.N. If he says you had thirteen U.N. nations, you had thirteen U.N. nations.

1) Knock off the flaming.
2) We know how many nations you had.
3) If you'd like to continue to play, lick your wounds and try again.

Well being banned wouldn't be the worse thing ever. This game is still too primitive compared to Cybernations. And my idiot brother probably made those nations as we share an account.

Try again? Okay that seems like a wise idea to waste time trying to join the UN when I have just been denied membership.

and if that's the case, then you can't blame NS nor the mods for kicking you out of the UN.

Eh, I'll get over it. The only thing you achieve from the UN is either delegate position or being able to vote for the delegate. The stuff you vote for don't actually affect your nation at all.

Actually. I'd have to go "BONK" on that. UN Resolution do affect your nation. They affect it's statistics and the laws in your nation.

He did have a nation in the UN and the resolutions affect that nation in the UN.

But no, non UN members are not effected by the resolutions.

If you are in the UN, they Effect your nation even if you don't RP. The UN, it's resolutions and thier effects are hard coded into the actual game and not the Forums. The laws go into effect in your actual nation on the NS Site.

So if I were to read my description of my Nation it would be different? I don't remember any changes when they've been passed before. And also, is it me or has the site gone down or something because I can load it up.

It doesn't change the description. But if you don't answer any issues and a few UN Resolutions are passed, you will see a change in your "freedoms".

The UN definitely affects your nation's stats. One of my puppets turned from a dictatorship into an (ugh) centrist democracy even though my issue-answering wasn't very centrist. You might not care about that if you don't RP, but the changes are still there.

UN tanked my economy so hard it took two years to recover.

It also changes you stats in the XML feed. (I think)

UN resolutions do affect your nation. Whether or not you'll see an immediate result from any given resolution is another matter entirely.

As the appeal has been denied, this thread has served its purpose.
