Think maybe the dishonest premise had something to do with it turning into a flamefest? This isn't talk radio--the lefties fight back here.

It's the sidebars on neo-cons and racism that aren't called for. If that's not sufficiently off track to close the thread, then, I've had a bad attitude about things. Ban me for a month.

The premise was fine. Anyone that resides in the U.S. illegally and can rack up 11 arrests for minor offenses before being noticed _should_ be deported.
But I'm not going to argue here -- or anywhere else, if I have my way.

at the risk of causing a general discussion in Moderation... no it doesn't. I can be and am against Illegal Immigration but still welcome and fight for legal immigrants and for an easier immigration process. It's those that automatically take that stance like yours that makes a discussion of immigration hard.
Anti Illegal Immigration |= Racism.

I didn't say I thought anti-illegal immigrant people were racist. It's just when you begin to talk about immigration, it's guaranteed that someone will bring up racism.
