Greater Trostia constantly makes posts such as these whenever I post a controversial viewpoint.

In itself, I don't think that's such an egregious offense. However, he always does it, and it's getting mighty annoying to have him popping into every single thread in which I post in order to tell me that I'm a troll. Can such behavior be curbed, since it does not further the topic whatsoever and contributes nothing to the thread?

I don't see how factual statements are in any way defamatory.
Learned how to play the mods a bit better eh MTAE?
Dude...
I have never seen ANYONE punished for calling someone a troll. You brought up this same thing when people started calling you FAG. Quit trying to get people warnings or bans because they're ruining your fun.

I don't want him to be punished, I just want him to stop. I asked him nicely to do so a number of times, but he refused to desist. I'm hoping that although this might not technically be a transgression, he will listen if a moderator tells him that he should consider stopping.
Given that you continuously post "controversial beliefs" it is not surprising that you get accused of trolling. When everything you say seems to get under peoples skin, what do you expect?

I have no problem with you calling me a troll on occassion. I have no problem with anybody else calling me a troll several times. But Greater Trostia makes a habit of categorically calling me a troll, thread after thread after thread; it's really getting on my nerves.

If he gets on your nerves that badly and you don't want to read his posts anymore then put him on your ignore list and that will be that.

But sometimes, although fairly rarely, he does argue against me in good faith. I don't want to throw away the good with the bad.

I have no problem with you calling me a troll on occassion.OK. I think you're a troll. Anyone who can post this drivel ... You cannot establish such a premise unless you can defeat me in an honest debate and prove that my viewpoint is "silly." ... The sooner you drop your puerile stance and learn to accept this fact, the sooner you can honestly debate them and people will start taking you seriously. However, as things currently stand, you are unworthy of my attention.... meets my definition for trolling.

Fine, I'm asking you to.
Stop posting outrageous opinions that 99.95% of the rest of the world would find offensive and pretending you believe them. Stop demanding that we should engage you in "honest debate" over points that are essentially undebatable, that are based on fallacies, that fail to meet the test of what most of us consider basic human behavior. Stop cluttering our forums with posts and threads specifically designed to outrage and annoy our readership. Stop wasting our time.
Let's see if you're capable of meeting your own test.

I see. So the irrational opinions which are spewed by a wide range of those on the far left are perfectly acceptable, yet if I dare post a logical, coherent reply to a thread that it moderately far-right, that behavior is condemned. The bias is palpable. Simply because you do not agree with my position does not make it "fallacious" or "undebatable." In fact, several people did engage me in honest debate regarding my views, and I responded in kind for several pages. While you may find some of my positions distasteful, they adhere to the forum rules. Perhaps you should not let your personal political stance sway your professional decisions in the future. I'm disappointed in you.

As usual, you turn the argument into an attack on the respondent. No surprise there.
I can live with your disappointment. I will, however, continue to enforce the forum rules on trolling. We've given you free reign to post your opinions, even defended your right to do so on multiple occasions. You've taken that as a license to push further towards being a permanent troll, just as you did with your previous incarnations.
No, I can't prove that you were MeansToAnEnd and doubtless other posters, and lucky for you I'm restrained by the rules we've established for fair play that prevents me from deleting you based on my strong suspicions. Nonetheless, I will be paying closer attention to those frequent complaints we get about you.
Consider yourself notified.
