Is hoping for the death of millions permissible?

What? Don't you think it's a bit worrying that ONE Asian country has a larger population than the entire West (Western Europe, America, Australia, Japan) combined?

Now factor in that there are TWO Asian countries that EACH have a larger population that the entire West combined.

I'm still hoping for an environmental or economic disaster that'll wipe a couple of hundred million out.

I don't really post in Moderation, as I tend to think I thick skin is better than anything else, but I just found this extremely offensive.

It seems quite malicious (well, it is malicious as per the literal definition of the word, what with malice implying "a deep-seated often unexplainable desire to see another suffer (http://www.webster.com/dictionary/malice)"), especially seeing as these fora have posters that come from Asia...

Track record, plus comment, equals DEAT.

I'm no fan of TPF. I think his posts were generally ugly and unoriginal. He rarely tried to persuade anyone, rather just vented his prejudices.

But the post that got him gone is pretty mild. It expresses no hate of any person or group of people. It names no specific target for his "wish." It advocates no violence. It is probably aimed at China or Chinese, which is a bit like a shrimp trying to piss down the blowhole of a whale.

Even though the DEAT post is gone, it garnered two replies. They don't really seem like the sort of insurrection we might expect from hate speech:
Longhaul (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12818491&postcount=164)
Peepelonia (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12818565&postcount=165)

Yeah, if the post had stayed longer it might have caused a fire.

And finally, I would like to appeal on behalf of TPF because I feel I may have contributed somewhat to his bad post. Half an hour before, the post above, I rather bluntly compared TPF to a talking Boony doll (http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/boon-companion/2006/05/08/1146940475866.html). Yeah, it was meant to be funny but it was pretty rough teasing. (EDIT: As far as I remember my post went: "Mate you're a fucking classic. They should make you into a talking plastic doll and give you away with slabs of beer.") I half-expected him to respond with anger. It might have been a factor, since he and I have specifically disagreed in the past, on the subject of immigration to Australia.

Has TPF ever had a two-day ban or something? Warning, something like that? If it was me and I was DEATed for that post, I'd be wondering whose ancestors I'd accidentally pissed on.

Considering Hack said "track record plus post", I assume that he has had quite a few chances.

Of course, I'm not a mod, so I don't know.

Has TPF ever had a two-day ban or something? He already had multiple warnings. Aparently, he thought we weren't serious. Perhaps he'll rethink that position.
