Too Many OOCs, my Thread is IC.

Erm...it doesn't actually say "IC", so it's open to both - I think.

Some observations, since Hataria repeatedly comes up here for one reason or other:

In an RP forum it shouldn't have to say 'IC', especially if it's obvious it's in character.

It's terribly rude to bombard threads with ooc bitchfesting just because you dislike a player - even if they do it all the time too. Nothing like lowering yourself to their level to prove you're better, neh? Oh, wait ... yeah.

If you don't want to play with someone, or you can't stand how they RP, or you don't want to interact ... don't. You don't have to 'beat' them again to prove ... whatever it is you're trying to prove. You don't have to harrangue them at every opportunity. You don't have to snipe in every thread that comes up. Just. Don't. RP. With. Them. See above. Lowering self, etc.

Posting HUGE 'I IGNOREZ J00' crap is ... silly, and juvenile. If you ignore someone, the best way to do it is actually ignoring. See above. Not posting. Not lowering, etc.

Calling someone else a crap RP'er whilst illustrating clearly just what sort of manure you're made of probably isn't the best idea either.

Honestly, folks - everything that might offend your sensibilities does not need to be addressed at every opportunity. The best 'revenge' when dealing with problems is to deny the players that which they seek through more posting - attention and interaction. I keep hoping people are going to clue into that, but it just never seems to sink in.

Hataria, like it or not, has as much right to post here as any of the rest of you, so long as he doesn't break the rules. In acting like a bunch of idiots you put yourselves in danger of getting smacked for flaming, and baiting, and spamming, and all the rest. Perhaps it's time to ask yourselves, 'is it really worth it?'

EDIT: If you're reading this as 'sympathy', you need to read again.

To quote fris

"As for you, Hataria, I'm not even going to consider policing your threads anymore. In business terms, you're "not adding value" to the game of NationStates. We're not going to tolerate your threats to seek out new players and "warn them about the cyberbullies". Our tolerance has exceeded its limits."

So, what happened? He clearly god modded this one, why the sympathy? If he had said "15" instead of "one", it would have been fine. Tis a shame. That and he claims Russel Crowe is in his royal family, but thats another topic.

That doesn't mean people get a license to shit post in every Hataria thread.

What caused that thread to crap out? Not Hataria.

It was the horde of people who dislike Hataria who ruined it.

(I do agree that the basic premise of the thread is questionable, but we don't have RP police.)

(I do agree that the basic premise of the thread is questionable, but we don't have RP police.)

I personally disagree with that statement. While it's admittedly not the job of the mods to police RPing, in practice the RPing community tends to police itself, with comments by other players serving that purpose. Thus, comments on how something is wanky/godmoding/whatever are a good thing, IMHO. While it tends to get a little out of hand occasionally (such as in this thread), it DOES provide a reason for the mods to exist. ;)

Well, that's my take on it at least. Carry on as if I said nothing.

The posts that came after Hataria's horrendous godmod LookAtMyAmazingNewNavy post would meet the above definition for RP self-policing. The ones that came before did not.

As for you, Hataria, you can't keep posting "I am BBBBBBBBBBBBBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK" when you never freaking go away!

I think in my opinion, you can't flame someone even if they deserve it.
But then just don't reply to them if they're bombarding you with hate posts,
they probably stop if you do unless they're very strong-willed or just jerks.
Replying back with do nothing but cause more arguments.
