Frisbeeteria-

I can't believe it's come to this, but I agree with Vittos. We're pretty much done here.

Rubiconic Crossings, the next time you come to Moderation to flame people AFTER a specific ruling has been laid down on your behalf ... don't bother. Way to bring utter humorlessness to what was a mildly entertaining thread.

Thread closed.

Dear Mods,

I would like to appeal this ruling/lock if possible.

1 - There was no specific ruling on my behalf

2 - I was not flaming. I might have been harsh but I also gave explanations for my posts. I know flaming is not allowed. If I was flaming in the eyes of the/a mod(s) then I must say that others involved in that thread need to shoulder responsibility as well.

3 - I certainly did not intend to nor wanted to 'Way to bring utter humorlessness to what was a mildly entertaining thread'.

I asked a simple question as to whether or not that was an appropriate thread for moderation.

Frisbeeteria did provide some answers for which I was grateful. However I requested further information/understanding. Which will now be ignored due to the lock (which is the main reason for this appeal).

I do not want to cause hassles or trouble or more work for the Mods but I also want to be a rule abiding member of Nationstates.

Many thanks for your assistance in this matter.

{PS- sorry about the double post...thank you for the deletion of the duplicate}

Dear Mods,

It's not, really. In my 4 years of moderating this site I have to admit unlocked threads are something of a rarity. Even if it were to happen here, thread unlocks are usually the perogative of the OP to appeal, and not some guy who (voluntarily) interjected with little or no apparent purpose.

1 - There was no specific ruling on my behalf
I would hope I wouldn't have to get more specific than this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12672783&postcount=57).

The thread probably wasn't locked so much as a direct result of that post, but because of how you chose to conduct yourself after it had been posted. I didn't lock it myself so I don't really know for sure, but based on what I read it seems to have been something of a factor.

2 - I was not flaming.
Next!

3 - I certainly did not intend to nor wanted to 'Way to bring utter humorlessness to what was a mildly entertaining thread'.
Unfortunately, in terms of moderation, results sometimes matter more than intent.

I asked a simple question as to whether or not that was an appropriate thread for moderation.

Frisbeeteria did provide some answers for which I was grateful. However I requested further information/understanding. Which will now be ignored due to the lock (which is the main reason for this appeal).
We participated in it for a while, and then locked it, so no harm done. If we're dealing with too much and don't want bother with the thread, we'll lock/delete it and talk to the OP if necessary. If we don't care and don't see any harm in leaving it, we will. It's kind of our call, being as we basically run the site. Under different circumstances it's quite possible that such a thread would be locked/deleted, but for whatever reason we decided not to: such are the vagaries of having moderators who happen to be human beings.

I do not want to cause hassles or trouble or more work for the Mods but I also want to be a rule abiding member of Nationstates.
If the original thread didn't create any new hassles or troubles for us (which it didn't, and is why we let it exist for a while), what makes you think this one doesn't?

Many thanks for your assistance in this matter.

You're welcome. :p
