I can't tell if it's flaming or trolling. It's not directed at any one person but it labels 'liberals' and anyone who 'hates God' as "scum".

It's mild trolling. I think he's been adequately punished in-thread, but if he continues, feel free to mention it again.

I believe in that case he was making a sarcastic remark and didn't mean it.

Who said it was? Both are potentially trolling, though in this case the context is clear that the response was a sarcastic reply.

Arguments about religion will inevitably generate heat on both sides, and we're not going to sanitize the forums to the point that nobody can express their own pig-headed, entirely close-minded opinions about whichever side of the debate they've chosen to support.
