I apologized for being a flamebaiting spammer with my puppet nations. I know what I did was wrong and I am asking you, the moderators, if you would please restore the nation of the Federation of Undbagarten, I hate using this stupid puppet nation!

If you repeal Undbagartens ban, I will allow my puppet nations to sink into oblivion. These puppets are: Escova, Eladinia, Yuketobonian Republics, Richarddom, and thegla. I will allow all of these to be deleted if you restore Undbagarten.

The mods don't restore nations deleted for rule-breaking.

It wasn't undbagarten though, it was a puppet I created for a friend and I flamed him for being an idiot. It was my first offense and they deleted me! Now I have to use Eladinia and others.

I hope you take my request and review it with utmost seriousness. I will never create another puppet nation whether it be for me or a friend and I will make a public apology for any infractions a may have committed in the past. I have to go; I hope you reply to my request with utmost haste.

Doesn't happen, especially not for self-admitted rules breaking. When you pull stunts like that, you run the risk of deletion. And depending on how bad it is, you run the risk of more than one getting hit with it. Standard, always has been - afraid this is going to come down to 'you broke the rules, deal'. Spamming Moderation repeatedly whining about it certainly isn't going to win you any points.

We don't bargain with rulebreakers. Your desire or lack thereof to play puppets has no relevance to this case. We'll review your case, and if there was a moderator mistake we'll consider overturning the ban or whatever it was. If it was justified, no deal. Also, posting every five minutes despite no response from mods has pretty much assured that your answer is 'no'.

Edit: have reviewed, we find that you're a) an admitted spammer and b) a UN multi. Appeal denied.

A related question for the mods: This is the second time in the past few days I've seen a request for undeletion denied, not because the poster's case didn't warrant it, but because it is against a policy that supposedly has always been in place (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12610657&postcount=12). There is, however, a long-standing precedent (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=310765), which occured with the blessing of the rest of the mod staff, for restoring a nation deleted for admitted rule violations. Of course, each case is different and policy can change, but these don't appear to account for this discrepancy. Could someone explain this for me?

At first glance, this appears to be something that also has always been policy - that we are lenient when it's a matter of mod misinterpretation. Cogitation overruled himself when it appeared that he either overreacted, or simply failed to note the exact reasons why he acted as he did. I wasn't around at that time, so I can't tell you exactly ... and having handled something like 40,000 tasks in the last 2-3 years (plus umpteen forum issues), I can surely understand why he might have forgotten.

Our reporting and warning system is more robust these days, but that hasn't stopped us from correcting errors in mod judgment on multiple occasion. I've probably restored 20 or more nations that I deleted or ejected on minimal evidence. When the player in question appeals with more details, I could see where I made the mistake. Since this generally doesn't happen with a massive forum post chock full of appeals to popularity, y'all aren't aware that we do in fact correct our own mistakes.

Where there is no mistake, it's not really subject to appeal. Yes, we published an appeals process, but that's really an internal review by more of the squad. We do quite a bit of that anyway in the normal course of business, and we do review each others' solo rulings regularly.

There's also been a lot of heat about Delete-on-Sight status. Quite a lot of players have been given Delete on Sight status because they've gone on a tirade for days or weeks, and we simply don't want to have to deal with it anymore. In a number of cases, we've later discovered that those players snuck back onto the site and have been behaving quite normally and pleasantly, albeit under the radar. Since that all we really wanted in the first place, we've been known to simply ignore them. Of course, if they cross the line again, we're much more likely to reinstate the DOS order.

A nation that clearly and visibly broke the rules will remain dead forever. You can create a new nation in 30 seconds, so deletion of a nation isn't preventing you from otherwise enjoying the site. Restoring that nation would send the message that we were willing to condone that player's action. Leaving it dead drives home the point that actions have consequences, but still leaves open the possibility of game play. I just don't see any reason to change that policy.

Fine, if you would be so kind as to delete my puppets, I will create one new nation. New Undbagarten, and start over.

Nations aren't deleted on request. If you want them to go, don't log into them for 30 days.

That works too, I don't even remember the password for most of them.

I have begun the process of rebuilding the Federation of Undbagarten. The Federation of New Undbagarten is the first step in the process. I have gone through decline; now I will experiance a revival unlike any other, and will become greater than before.

This is not an RP forum, and we don't really care what you do as long as you don't break site rules.
